RC Driving Style
Do any of you find them to put too much stress on your servos? Or take any performance from your servos?

I was wondering the same thing. It seems like a spring strong enough to pull it back would hurt throttle performance.
 
Stress, hmmm yes and no. Just using a servo for it's designed function causes stress however the additional drag of the spring will add a slight amount of stress but probably not enough to prematurely retire the servo. The spring will more than likely cause a slight decrease in the battery life. I'd see the battery life being more of a factor than the additional stress.
 
Ummm Noop it honestly depends on where you mount it and how much tension you put on it. I agree with the pirate probably not enough to really mess with anything. I have noticed a performance loss in my Nitro mt on acceleration though seems like it really takes a lot longer to get up to speed. Maybe I need a stronger servo now. Late
 
I was thinking the same as above, probably not a stress issue but if it's to taught it may slow accereration response just a lil
 
I am running a stock trottle/brake servo and yes it might affect the accereration a bit but it is so small that I can not notice the differents. Note this is on a Smartech Car. Now if you have a hitec high totque servo, there should be no issues imo.
 
I had my throttle control linkage disconnect from the tower on my 2.5 yesterday. Fortunately it got knocked loose in a rollover, and I had already gotten off the throttle. NOW I see the reason to add the spring. You want it to close the carb, if anything comes loose. That doesn't require enough tension to strain the servo.

exactly! only enough tension to close the carb if your linkage comes loose or breaks, etc. thats how mine is and I've never had problems with batteries or servos or anything.
