I lived about 5 mins walking time from the high school on Placentia Blvd. Talk about getting shot, here's a thought. I got lost in the Watts area while riding my friends Harley Davidson Road King. don't ask me how I got there. All I knew is that I wasn't in Kansas anymore! I made sure I didn't stop for too long of a period.

I-15 gets you to vegas from the LA area. Revo have you gone to SV Speedway? Its a great place to run on/off road. I used to live in Huntington Beeeech

Not a prob. Is that an older model of the AMB system? or a different system all together? The other transponders I'm used to are the rechargeable kind that you pull off the tray and mount either somewhere on your body or to a transponder mount on the chassis.

yes its old amb. the transponders are just a little larger than personals, but a lot smaller and lighter than the rechargables, and you also dont have issues with a transponder that hasnt been charged long enough. its basically just like a personal (a little thicker) that attaches by a body post like the rechargables do.

Hmmm, never heard of SV Speedway. Is that the one in Huntington Beach? If it is they are electric only as they are indoors.

It seems like once you guys back east hit spring you have nicer and better groomed tracks than we do in the southwest. Our tracks can be dusty even shortly after they are wetted and it gets so dang hot too.

I bought my onw AMB transponder but I have yet to use it. The only two places I have raced both provided me with one for free, so heck, why not use theirs!

Its formerly KZ Speedway in Sunvalley up by Burbank.

55 miles away = 2 hours to drive!!! I'd need "jetmech's" jet to make it there and back in one day!

You would get there faster with a bicycle during a rush hour traffic. Especially when there's a "sig alert."

It took me about an hour to get there from HB I'd leave around 0900 on sat morning get there around 1000

Whoa that'll be a trek! Total Est. Time: 3 hours, 6 minutes Total Est. Distance: 180.45 miles . . .

I got you beat, Total Est. Time: 35 hours, 50 minutes Total Est. Distance: 2353.13 miles.

Looking at that dirt, I am drooling. There is just grass growing in the middle of the track, for no reason, without water added. That does not happen where I live.

At my buddy's house, when we water the track in the summer time for traction and to keep the dust down, starting at one end, and going to the other, the starting point will be completely dry before we can get to the other side. I envy you.

I can usually make it from Suffolk county, NY to Lancaster Pa. in no more than 4hrs...
Sometimes 3hrs.. lol

Are you being sarcastic? I though that was pretty damn quick... lol

TJ-
Once we finally meet, you'll see that I'm very sarcastic! :)

the track has sod laid where the marshal spots are. it takes a few weeks to take, but once it does, its good for the season. the track that day was dialed the entire day because we had rain for 2 days before hand, never needed to water it once. we usually water in between heats, but the dust really isnt that bad. i might change 1 prefilter/vehicle a day. so far i have 2 weekends on the same prefilter right now.

And I thought those pics were not the best, but at least you got some. A bash at Pit Stop???? Sound GREAT!!! Tight track, not a lot of air, but I like the layout.

My buddies and I are new to nitro. Between the three of us each smoking an engine within a week of building our first offroad track (and finding dirt in each of our carbs), we figured out the hard way that in dusty conditions, you need to clean/replace your filter after every couple of tanks, a whole day on a filter will probably cost you an engine. We use PJ1 foam filter oil from our dirt bikes. Comes in a spray can. What do you guys use for filter oil?

pj1 is good stuff, its the same as the associated air filter oil. no need to worry about my motor though, i take care of it. all my 1/8th scales run a 2 stage filter, i change the prefilter when it gets dirty enough, and never reuse the inners. if they get dirty i throw them away and put a brand new one in. I've never had an engine die because of dirt ingestion.
