I just bought a gallon of byron gen2 2500 from my lhs and it has a fruit like smell when i run it in my tmaxx. this is without aditives. is this me or does it just smell funny

I run it. I wouldn't necessarily say it's "fruity", but I would say it's far less acrid smelling than trinity fuel.

All I run is byrons now. It's the cheapest at my LHS compared to others. I usually have to buy at least two gallons since I run 25%. They carry 20% and 30%, not 25%. So, I mix 20% and 30% 50/50 to get as close to 25% as I can.
 
Byron's and Odonnels both seem to have that sweet, tangy smell. It makes it so it is actually enjoyable to smell nitro fumes, whereas Top Fuel burns the nose.

top fuel 30 is all i run it burns you eyes when your tuning and the dam exhause head rattles lose cause someboy forgot the retention spring..... omg my eyes were watering :\
 
i think it may be the sythentic oils. Byron smells a whole lot better than the blue thunder i was running and its alot cheaper
