Well its not really what i was aiming for, then realized in this day n age with the economy, I really have no choice...

I will now be a clerk putting up with peoples bs all day at 7-11 lol

Kind of embarrasing and EXTREMELY nervous, but just thought id share this news:D

BS nothing embarassing about it, it's honest work. I spent four years handing people movies at Blockbuster, and loved it for the most part. People get way too wrapped up in titles they are given these days IMO. I literally work somewhere like office space, we have VP's that over two people, seriously. For most of us, our jobs are just a way to put food on the table, and fuel in our toys. I try (not hard enough sometimes) to not get too wrapped up in mine. Congrats on the new gig killer, you've earned it.

Cool, I got a new avatar for ya!

apu.webp

Just kidding man. An honest salary is an honest salary no matter what you are doing. I wish you were working at my 7-11, I would hit ya up for a free slurpee :D

Congrats on the new job bud, in this economy any job is a blessing, nothing at all to be embarrassed about

I'm just scared and nervous pretty much lol (sitting here in a cold sweat thinking about it) But yeah it will definatly feed my family and pay what little bills I have now. Oh and I forgot it will kick my hobby fund back up, thats the most exciting part because I love my toys, definatly my family too but MY TOYS, MY TOYS!!!

And the new avatar!^^ lmao

The fellas are correct. Honest work is honest work. Titles are worthless and are rarely as glam as one may think. My job title is "Filler". It's relatively easy work in my eyes and fills my bank account with the cash my family and hobbies require. I make the same amount of money with 10% of the aggravation and 2% of the stress as my previous position there as a "Supervisor".

I think a lot of folks with bs titles are underpaid and under-appreciated. If I'm gonna be underappreciated I might as well do it the easy way.

Hallo. Hallo my fren. You putting back the potato chips.
You buy some ting or you get out.

hey! hey you! get out of my store right naow, put down de shlurpee and keet kat bar and get tout right naow! dank you come agayn:hehe:

I agree, lessen.
Even with my 6 figure plus salary, no one appreciates what I do here as a mod. :D
Pshhhh! You better believe we all appreciate what you do here my wise old friend

Did you get the memo about your TPS Report, HPI Guy?????????

GET BACK ON TOPIC!:D

This Slurpee tastes like butt. I tried to drink it all, but the fruit just amplified the stench. Can you get me another one on the house?

You know Lessen, It's taken me almost 6 years to realize that very thing. Sometimes no matter how hard you work, some things you just can't change, like company politics. So I decided to either find another job, or just be happy in the role I have. I went with the latter, and my days have been much better ever since then.

PS: Where were you 5 1/2 years ago? :hehe:

Yes Lumberg, I did. Have you checked the copier today? I think it's out of toner :hehe:

Seriously though, one of my all time favorite movies. I think I"m gonna watch it again now actually. On a side note, I have a morning meeting every day at 9:30. There are two guys named Bob in that meeting, every day. I can't help but smirk when I take my seat.

That's funny. I think it was about 6 years ago I started my quest for what turned out to be an underappreciated position with a bs title. If you cannot tell, it took me the same amount of time to figure out.

I always work harder than necessary because that's just who I am. I realized there's a difference from trying to be a slight cut above the rest & being above the rest. This is where understanding both the politics and the realities of your workplace comes into play. Sometimes the reality is that it simply won't pay to work as hard as you want to. It's sad, but it's the reality of life sometimes. I think the workplace is quite different than it was years ago (before my time). Everything is so fast paced these days, too many things get overlooked (knowingly unfortunately), at least that's what I observe.
