ok I have my os .18 in my gt and my tires will not stop spinning i can lower the idle all i want and nothinh it will spin like crazy and its revving really really high and i dont know y........... waht can be the problem I've had this fo overa a month and nothing works.. its not the idle so then what is it please help me ime really tired of this.

Well, the RC10 comes with a clutch that always drags, if your running stock. The clutch doesn't have a spring on it to keep the shoes from dragging, even at a low idle. Seems like a stupid setup to me... but I believe it's to aleviate the heavy hit of power off the line since it's a 2wd rig and traction is really limited. Although, using a really soft spring would be a better idea than a constantly dragging clutch IMO.

If the engine isn't idling down, are you sure your linkage is letting the carb move when you back out the idle screw? Are you sure it isn't running overly lean on the LSN? A lean LSN will make it idle really high.

Could be a possible air leak causing it to rev high.....check around the carb/backplate and head. Make sure all the screws are tightened down. Also make sure the carb it fully seated down in the block.

Had a bud of mine try to modify an engine block with a dremel and actually caused a small hole in the side. It would idle like it was at 1/2 throttle....lol.....and the carb would be totally closed. Air leaks are a funny thing sometimes........Best of luck....

I had the same problem with my GT, my friend. As suggested, you need to seal the engine backplate and carb throat with RTV sealant. Once you do that, get yourself a MIP 4-n-1 clutch shoe set-up and use the middle hole. The stocker clutches on those things, as Robriguez mentioned, always drag and it's a horrible design, IMO.

While you're at it, put some new CB bearings in there as well.

By all means, yes!

It should spin really easy and spin on it's own if you fling the CB with your finger while it is installed on the engine.

You have a shimming problem or something on the flywheel, bearings, bell or the screw that holds the bell on. That's why your wheels won't stop spinning.

The point of the clutch is to dis-engage and engage the connection to the engine. If there is any connection at all, it will transfer power.

Either it's a shimming issue or you need to file the flywheel pins down that the clutch shoes sit on. The instructions even mention that you need to cut a little bit off the pins coming out of the flywheel or the clutch will not seat properly against the flywheel and it will rub against the CB all the time.

I missed it to (MIP needs to do a better job of spelling that out) so, if you haven't done so, take a Dremel and shave a bit off both pins.
