Reading the topic on the_Traxxas_guy ripping people on eBay has brought another question to my mind.
I have been looking for a used Traxxas brand on eBay just for S&G's for right now. You know, that once in a life time bid.:whhooo::first_place:
Well, come to find out, most of the new in the box end up getting bids up to the same price as buying one in the store or from a dealer on line. Used ones are rarely under $280 dollars.
Has anyone had any better luck buying a Traxxas at a good price? I am sure most of you are asking "what do you think is a good price". Answer, not sure yet but for a nitro under $200.
I would love to get a Jato 3.3. Not exactly for the wheelies as much for the off and on road sick speeds. :D

check out craigslist. I've ran across more deals on there than ebay. I bought a Tmaxx 3.3 for $50, and turned around and sold it on ebay for $330. Everything traxxas gets looked at so much on ebay, I think its pretty rare to get a good deal.

i bought a used t-maxx3.3 on eBay and it was a complete rip off. If you do buy from eBay it should be brand new. The t-maxx turned out to be a piece of poop but from the pictures it looked fine. I bought a new jato on eBay and that turned out great but i think i was lucky on that one:)

The best deals I normally find are on forums like this one with reputable people that have good feedback. We all know what a "used" truck is worth. And we all know what it's "worth" to us to either keep it or get it off our shelves.

I primarily use ebay to buy parts and that's about it. Used rollers and used trucks I tend to get off forums... and there's only two of those that I feel comfortable enough about buying/selling on. RCNT would be one of them.

That being said, a buddy of mine asked me to bid on a used savage on ebay for him for around $260. The truck came RTR with a host of spare parts and a brand new STS D30 still in the box. He definitly got his moneys worth, but my stomach was hurting for him from the second I hit "Bid Now" to the day it showed up (12 days later) and I was able to look at it.

He could turn around and sell what he got easily for $400+ if he separated a few things. Still haven't even fired it up yet though. He's been too busy since we bought it.

Buy it Now!

View the results on ebay by newly listed then check regularly several times a day then when a Buy it Now comes on at a price your happy with buy it quick. Hope this helps.

i believe it was around 280 with shipping. I searched for awhile to find a good deal. I also found a brand new team Losi eight rtr for 520. You just have to be patient.

I bought a used Revo 3.3 for $350 from a friend and it had the better shocks and other goodies already installed. He used 3/4 of a gallon on it. I got him to go 3 payments with me. I will be payed up this Friday. This is one great buggy and very tough! I do plan to race it soon. The only thing I might change would be better tires for racing.

I buy and sell A LOT on ebay, and I've never been ripped off, never bought junk. I think a lot of it comes down to doing your research, talking with the seller beforehand to establish that he's honest and that he knows how to take care of his RC, things like that. I probably spend about 3 grand a month on ebay, but only about 75% of that is on my RC's. The other 25% of that is strictly buying items that I know I can resell and make a good profit on, which is one way that I support my hobby, because I work two jobs and go to school, so I'm by no means a "rich kid". I use one train of thought when I buy stuff on ebay. If I don't KNOW that what I'm buying is in great shape, then I don't bid on it or buy it. Basically that means that if there is any question in your mind that it's not in excellent shape or exactly what you're looking for, then don't buy it. Also, don't buy a T-Maxx or a Savage for $100, on here or ebay, and then bitch and moan that it needs a part here and there. That's the joy of buying used.

i got my t-maxx 2.5 on www.craigslist.org from a local seller he lived in plano and i live in fort worth and he met me half way. came with 2 bodys, remote, ez start, a fresh set of batteries, all the original handbooks and everything that came with the truck new ect. all for $250 it was very well taken care of. I personally feel like i did pretty good.

oh yea he also just recently swapped the 2.5 for a 3.3 and it was broke in plus about 2 tanks. I have since run 4 more through it before i stripped the spur gear.
