I once tried baloot. I was only able to choke down 1 bite. Had to wash it down with a couple of shots of cuervo to get rid of the taste and film in my mouth.

For those who don't know what baloot is. It is a fertilized duck egg that has been kinda boiled then left to ferment. I will try anything at least once, and that was all it took for me. Oh, it also smelled bad too.

I also ate a ball of wasabi about half the size of a golf ball. My buddy's put $50 on the table for me to do it. I was pretty loaded from doing sake bombs and was full of sushi as well. I had to put it in my mouth, chew on it then show it to them before swallowing it. I almost dispersed my stomachs contents all over the place 3 times before I was able to get it down. After that display, the waitress asked us to leave.

Robriguez,
that was the single funniest thing I've heard in quite some time...... I almost pissed off my pants when I read that...... you win man. But for other potential challangers.... keep it up, this thread is great

Weirdedst thing I ever at was some type of spicey, Albanian dish made of pig intestines. It tasted great until I knew waht it was. :puke:

Stupidest thing I ever ate was about a tablespoon full of Dave's Insanity Sauce. Yes, I was drunk, yes it was painful, no I didn't puke although the next day, I wish I did. :constipat . Can you say, "Fire in the hole!"

Man, Balut! (BTW, this is the actual spelling) Haven't had that since I was back home in the Philippines! It's an acquired taste but also comes in 3 different stages ... first stage looks like a hard boled egg. The second stage has a very small embryo, but not too nad. The third stage is the msot developed. Very distinguished development. Has crunchy bones and underdeveloped feathers. I don't like the third type.

When you eat it, you crak the top, sprinkle in some sea salt and suck the jucie. Then you slowly peal the shell and star taking bites as ou sprinkle salt on it. YUUUUUUUUUUUUM! Makes my mouth water! A couple of those with some San Miguel Pilsner and I'm in heaven!

What I have eaten, and grossed me out AFTER the fact when I found out what is was was accidentally eating a dish made out of dog. Yeah, it was gross eating it, but i ate it becuase of the Filipino culture. Basically, you gotta eat at a function and if you don't get it yourself, they'll fix you a plate and you have to eat it all!

Lemme tell you, it tasted kinda funny. Meat was a little tough and a little slippery on the tongue. I ate it all to keep from isulting the host. When I was done, I asked what kind of meat it was because it had a funny consistancy. They looked at me and just barked. I thought they weren't serious till I saw a friend and he confirmed. I puked the whole thing up! Maybe it was all in my head, but it grossed me out.

Word of advice, when in a third world country and you're eating at a local festival or party, count the animals!

I must have had the third stage because that sucker had feathers.

yes Horchata. I forgot the H. Its made from water, ground rice, cinnamon, and ground almonds... some people put the skin of a lime in during the grinding part. The "zest" I beleive its called. Left overnight then mixed with sugar and passed through cheese cloth to remove the gritty bits. No Milk at all. There is a "mix" you can buy that requires milk but the real stuff has no dairy. Depending on how its made and how long it left to ferment it can look and taste a little slimey but its good.

The sandwich really wasn't that bad but what happened afterwards was extremely gross.

I'm Guatemalan / Italian. So I work for minimum wage and sell the goods off the back of the truck to make up for it.

In my opinion Rabbit has the same "slippery" kinda texture.

Once youve had Haggas(sp?) and Chitlins most anything can be eaten as long as its not too stinky or slimey. That embryonic egg thing is just nasty tho. If you think dog is weird, there are places in South America whre they eat gerbils as a delicacy. Then again if your not used to it anything can be weird and nasty. I mean have you ever stopped to think what goes into some of the sausages and hotdogs we eat and love. Kinda nasty if your not used to it.

Alright i know this will never beat robriguez but i can come close with a "munchies", story, me and my gf just got done smokin the best stuff i ever had, maan i had the munchies big time, like 1030 at nite, stopped at 7-11, gotta love that place, went up and down ever food isle and grabbed at least one thing from each ilse, 2 paclks of white chocholate kit kat bars, a butterfinger big bag of combos, bbq fritos, a 20.0z bottle of A-treat bluberry soda very good stuff, and a big bite hotdog with ketchup and that blazin cheese they got, came home damn near ate everything but like 1/4 bag of fritos, within a 30 minute period, still had the munchies, went to the kitchen and went stright for the snack cabinet, grabbed the box of fruity pebbels, cuz there was only a bowl full left and didnt want my brother to eat them so i put em in a bowl and opened the fridge to find we only had chocholate milk, its the same as white milk so i used it, that was probally the best bowl of friuty pebbles i ever had, went back to the fridge and found my mom bought cracker barrel extra sharp white chedder cheese she had hidden in a drawer for her cardgame night, oh well, she should have hid it better, also found sum hormel pepporonni(sp?) and i just seen the Ritz crackers in the cabinet so i was a happy camper, ate a whole pack of crackers and half the block of cheese, i was satisfied for now, bout 20 min later after lighting up again, i was back at the fridge for sum of my moms home made cheese cake, wit crumb topping, maaan this whole time I'm tellin myself know I'm gonna regret this later, as I'm stuffing the last bite of cheese cake in, struggling to keep it in, it was just too damn good to let it go to waste, I'm done yet again, but I'm walkin back to my bedroom, and i see a big jar of jelly belly jelly beans staring right at me, i tried to just keep walkin but i turned around and grabbed a paper cup and loaded it up to the top, went pretty good wit the cheese cake i just ate, I'm finally done, went to my room gobbled down the jelly beans and in about a half hour i was crawling to the bathroom stoned and sick, luckily its only a foot away from my br door, i was pukeing for about a half hour non stop, the only thing that kept me awake was looking at all the different cool colors i was seeing my self expel...., worse part about was the whole time I'm triying to keep it from coming out the other end too..... my nose burned for about 2 hours after that, havent ate a white chochalte kit kat since

I love Guyanese food!!! Dated a girl from there years ago and I swear, her hair smelled like curry. They use a lot of salt on everything from what I remember and love that rotti (sp?) in the morning.

yes buncrana rotti is the correct spelling. its supposed to be eaten wiht curry but i like mine sometimes wiht cheese and sometime with butter. curry scent in her hair seems like she cooked it alot curry will not leave a person. that is why you have to make sure your coat is in the closet when its being cooked lol. I'm not sure about too much salt my mom dosent use too much.
