$800 - I stand corrected.
My new radio was $700 just the radio itself but with my accessories and tax it went to almost $800. Although i skipped a couple of things like a hard case and the pit mat when i ordered the radio on Horizon Hobby's website. I just got in the screen protector and the lanyard today but the radio itself isn't supposed to ship until Mid October.

That is still a lot of cheddah cheese for one radio. Hopefully it is better than the last version.

I hope so too, I'm hopping it won't be nearly as bad as my RC8X was but at least you have Horizon's name and support backing it and not some no name Chinese company like Radiolink who does really shady things to protect their image whereas Horizon Hobby who will acknowledge when there's a problem and discontinue a potentially faulty product then fix the problem in a later version. Also Horizon does not delete Facebook comments or posts talking about issues or turns their self managed page private due to complaints about product issues. Edit: My Dad once told me "if you want the best you have to be able to pay for it"

I wouldn't say horizon is that great. They have bailed out some great companies just to ruin them. Even spektrum is a Chinese company my friend.

Maybe in your opinion, But I've pretty good experience with Horizon products my DX6C has been perfect for me and all my Arrma's have been really good. Both of my orders from them have been flawless and i got what I wanted. But i respect your opinion.

For $900 does it tie your shoes and make you eggs in the morning?
It might not make him breakfast, but I'll bet it can read him the recipe! 🤣

The problem with Spektrum is if you contact them, you're not contacting them. You're contacting Horizon. If you look at a lot of the Spektrum servos, you will notice they don't show you specs you need to know before buying a servo. But if you contact "Spektrum" asking about these specs, you will likely get a response like I did - "The manufacturer doesn't give us those specifications". Word for word, I kid you not. Which basically is like them saying - "we just buy stuff from China and slap our name on it". That was not the case back when it was actually Spektrum. For a hobby shop to grow so big that it has a major control of this industry, and our hobby, and hss no clue whst they are selling is in my opinion - disgusting.

That's like a gas station growing so powerful it now controls the quality and price of the gas we buy, our groceries, health products, candy bars, etc. And you can't buy gas without it coming with a gallon of milk that tastes like it came from a horse, a 32 count pack of toilet paper made from strips of newspaper, which you are now forced to take home and burn because your garage is full of rolls, and a two year old Snickers bar, who they forced out of business and purchased to monopolize the candy industry 5 years prior. And when you ask them the ingredients in the Snickers bar, they say "The manufacturer doesn't give us that information".

You're too young to know just what the big corporations have done to this world kiddo. This hobby used to be sooo different. Your opinion is based on what you know, but us old farts have our opinion because we know how much this hobby has been controlled and ruined by the conglomerates. Greedy people that have done everything they can to take control of every aspect of our hobby, just to make a profit off selling us crap they buy from whoever will make it the chespest.

The world was a better place before automated call answering and call centers!

Years ago, when you had a problem with a product, you could call the company, have an actual conversation about the issue and have some plan of resolve nailed down in 10 mins. You MIGHT even speak with the owner or manager of the company! Someone who makes more than min wage. Someone who's invested in the company who might actually give a crap about customer satisfaction and the company name.
Call Horizon customer service and ask to speak with a manager... let me know how that goes. 🤣

I don't expect someone who has always had google in their lives to understand this but google and other mega corps have destroyed a lot of what made America great imo.
There were sh!tty companies all over the planet but in the US, we had pride in our products and cared that the customer would WANT to come back and not being FORCED to buy their subpar, mostly imported junk because wrinkled tariff men found a way to deter competition in OUR country.
Only Horizon can import Chinese junk... the rest of us have to pay extra. 🙄

Years ago, I bought a Tekin esc. It was a VERY nice esc and to a young man it was VERY EXPENSIVE!!!
I promtly put a set of Hot Trick heat sinks and set the esc on fire. WOW!!! So VERY sad!!!
I contacted Tekin and they told me to send it in.
They fixed it for free and told me flat out not to use the sinks any more because that IS what fried the esc.
They KNEW I fried the esc, my fault entirely, and fixed it for free anyways!!!!

THAT is customer service! THAT is what keeping a customer is about!!!

I bought a number of Tekin products since and have a couple vintage units that still work great today.

Spektrum and a lot of other companies today have NO interest in seeing their products 'last'.
Their business model is to produce the cheapest gear possible with a set failure date that REQUIRES you to buy more and more product.

The spektrum electronucs loaded into rtr cars opens the door to otherwise uninterested buyers. More like FORCES the door open.
If someone said to me, do you want a spektrum radio or a Futaba... I'm gonna pick Futaba EVERY time.
Since its going to take a noob a week of stressful bench time to replace a 'whole radio system' 🙄 many get intimidated and buy a Spektrum replacement/'upgrade' rather than a hexdriver and a good quality radio.

Horizon is preying on noobs is the best way I can explain it.

Then, once a person gets a collection of 5 or 6 cars, the reality of changing ALL those receivers over, the labor and expense... another easy-in for Spektrum.

As far as I can tell, for my needs, the NB4+ was easily the best radio for the money. Until proven otherwise, I'm gonna run with it.

If ever I need upgrades from NB4, Sanwa or Futaba is where I'll look. Spektrum simply isn't an option.

I wonder if one day these sh!t companies will understand that they can still make money without destroying everything good while they profit.

Its downright disgusting what they did. I guess 1999-2009 or so was the golden area in this hobby.

A couple more arrived today for the latest nitro truck build. Had an item or two be mis-delivered as well, and those have been located now. Is what it is. 🤷🏻‍♂️

You got my Tamiya tape, looking forward to it's arrival. I know it was late at night but you do remember that conversation right? 🤔 😜 🤣
It’s already in route with a fresh box of Fatboy Churro eyes-keeeem sammies. 😎😂

Nice haul. I see your doing speed now. 😝🤪🫠🙃
Thanks brotha-this one is gonna take the cake imo; as far as my more recent builds are concerned.. Hope I don’t screw the pooch on the paint work.

Got two boxes of ‘em in my freezer as we speak.. Gonna have to remedy that-I cannot get this low again… 🫣🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

I've checked three different stores and no joy. Eventually they will show up.

Yeah man-I hate I shared some apparent unobtanium for a lot of members… Definitely stoked to see @TeknoJ managed to break the trend though.. 🤘😎

Same here. I even went so far as to send a request to my local grocery stores to carry them.

I am sure we'll get them soon enough. If not, I am going full CJ on walmart and contacting them daily 😁
