Almost bricked a Resmed iVAPS when installing our custom firmware, that was an hour of anxiety I don't want again. :)

My old daily driver (1998 Accord) cost less than an Xmaxx. I just got a new daily driver (2010 Accord) a few weeks ago, cost less than an Xmaxx. My neighbor, with his brand new Duramax and 200k pull behind makes 100k a year less than me. Shouldn't judge people by what they drive, unless you like to look foolish.

I bought a whole Mazda (it wasn’t a Miata) one time for 75 bucks put an alternator on it and daily that for years until I moved, sold it to a buddy for the cost of the tires I had just put on it and he got few more years out of it
I had a '75 Plymouth Valiant I bought for $50. It looked like it was just pulled out of a field behind a barn because it was 😅 But it had a 318 in it that would keep the one wheel peel going forever.

You had to be very careful where you put your feet because all four floorpans were completely gone, and the carpet that was falling apart was the only thing holding your feet up.

The really bad thing was doing a burnout was like playing chicken. If you didn't let off the gas soon enough the entire car would all of a sudden fill with a toxic cloud of burning bias ply that was so thick it made it impossible to even see your windshield wipers. You couldn't get out of the car fast enough!

I've needed to replace the screen on my iPhone 14 for a long time now. The new screen has been sitting in a box on my desk for about 2 weeks. I haven't replaced an iPhone screen since before they started using the heavy-duty glue seal between the screen and the chassis. 8 or 9 years ago was the last time I replaced one.

I dug into it last night. I don't know if it's because I'm getting older and more impatient, or what, but it was a straight up miserable experience. I had to cook the phone on the print bed of my 3D printer at 100 C and practically submerge it in Isopropyl alcohol to weaken the glue enough to be able to pry the glass out using 3 different razor blades. Once I popped it out, I had to spend another hour cleaning the glue strip off the inside of the chassis. Get that all finished up, move some parts around from the old screen to the new screen, then I get to the next step of removing a GLUED DOWN FLAT RIBBON WIRE, I was ready to throw the phone away and start using a soup can and string. Cooked it in the 3D printer again and the scary wire was actually easier to remove than the glass itself. The rest went back together easy.

I am a DIYer til I die but...whatever they charge at those shops to replace phone screens.....worth it.

My Ex supposedly sent a replacement front assemby for my son's phone, which would have meant simply removing the back and swapping parts to the new chassis. She even sent me the video on how to do it. I spend an hour with heat and alcohol to get the back off. Then I strip the phone of every part. I go to open the box that supposed held the phone chassis which was supposed to have the new screen. Nope. It was just the screen. No chassis. So I did all that for nothing.

So decision time. Try to remove the cracked screen, or put it back together and order the correct part. So I start trying to peel the screen. Glass shards are shooting like little rockets. I called it quits and put it back together and ordered the correct part.

Two weeks later I have the part and Breydon comes back and I go through it all over again. It worked and I was pretty proud of myself. Breydon goes back home a couple days later. The folowing day he calls me really upset. Somehow his new screen got cracked again 😖

Replaced it again, and the next chassis assembly showed up. I reassemble it again only to find out the new chassis was missing the volume button assembly. So tear it back down 🤬 I had to peel the tinyest ribbon wire ever from the chassis, and it was held in by the strongest glue ever. 2 hours later, I finally get it finished. I would have better off buying him a new phone.

Holy crap. You made me feel better about my situation lol.

Yeah, first cell phone I have ever worked on. Never again.

Nothing to be mad about today, really... I had three lessons scheduled and none of them took place. The new schedule starts this week, so every thursday I'll only have one single lesson, and this week that lesson won't continue either. So I'm getting three days of school this week🤩

Getting a little annoyed about other racers trying to talk about body aerodynamics. I can understand stickers and paint can add weight and drag and all that stuff to a body to a very very minuscule amount but like, it's not the end of the world it's still a toy car at the end of the day. 🤦‍♂️ I'd rather have the car look the way I want to make it look. 🤷‍♂️ This was sorta what I was trying to mention a few days ago.

What do you mean? 1 sticker adds at least 20 more horse power. 😁

Me personally I go with the body I personally like the looks and shape of. I could care less about aero.

I think you may be underestimating the adverse effects of paint and stickers and such when it comes to racing but your 100% right about the rest. Its just a toy car. More importantly, its YOUR toy car. Play how you want to play. Haters gonna hate.

I've been around racing enough to understand it, I just don't think it's the end of the world for a toy car 🤷‍♂️ At the end of the day I'm just trying to replicate a specific paint scheme thats sentimental to me lol

I think thats a great reason to do whatever you want. Whatever makes you happy. I do things rather frequently that others may not approve of. The key is to not give a darn what others think. Its really easy once you get the hang of it.

Amen man, I appreciate ya understanding :thumbs-up:

When you start getting serious enough to worry about the weight of a few stickers, it's usually the time it starts becoming less fun. I would stick with the stickers. ;)

Don't let other ppl tell you who you are or what you should do.
Are any of thes 'gurus' who condemn your sticker selection nascar or formula 1 drivers? Are they internationally known rc drivers with a fully sponsored car and pit?

'Consider the source.' That is prob one of the best things I took away from high school history. 🤣

Always consider WHO is telling you to do things and why.

Since these ppl have taken it upon themselves to sh!t on your parade, take a moment to reciprocate. Do they have any testing? Proof? Windtunnel results?Any actual on track footage to prove that strategically placed stickers could be used as a tuning and handling tool to actually INCREASE performance???

These ppl sound like overbearing nitwits to me!

'My stickers are the reason I didn't win the race.'

Have you actually heard anyone say this??? Ever???

Thats what your 'buddies' are trying to push on you RIGHT NOW.

Maybe there are studies and maybe there are a group of drivers so good that the weight of their stickers and where they are placed is the ONLY deciding factor for a win but until I actually see it, I'm calling BS on the whole thing right now!

Nitwits. 😐
