What car is it or what engine is in it? We have 2 GM cars with the 3.6L V6 engine that was always problematic DUE to FACTORY DEFECTs. My mom went through 2 engines now on the 3rd. The other car is on its second (warranty) engine. The 3rd engine we put in our first car we got off of powertrain (shop here in MD), that they took GMs faulty engine and fixed the defects and it runs better than ever, and we have no worries about it.
If yall are wanting to know what happened to one of those warranty engines, #6 rod bearing went bye bye.
Could also be that my mom is a semi professional race car driver, but GM, those engines (3.6L V6 LLTs) had terrible design flaws to begin with so... Multiple of them to say at the least.

LS swap is probably pretty cost effective. At least it's the go to in older Land Cruisers. LS isn't my cup of tea, but if it works...
If the shop really did a bonehead move like that, They better be ponying up to pay for that for Cheetah
Theyre swapping in a "like new" engine with "0" miles. Supposedly the same engine as stock, which is a 4.0 inline 6. 3 year/100k mile warranty. My mom is adamant it's the same engine as stock. I actually have a neighbor who took a 97' tj, cut it in half, added the extra length to make it a LJ 😂. He then ls swapped it

Long story short, I bought a truck during COVID that had a bad engine. I knew it had a bad engine, but it was cheaper to buy the broken truck and add a reman engine. It has issues and is under warranty. The mechanic tells me the engine reman company, LKQ, will not respond to them. I after trying for a year and my truck no longer running contacted LKQ. Well, LKQ tells me that they didn't respond because my mechanic never paid the invoice for the motor. My mechanic just went out of business, soooo... I have an $8000 paperweight.

Everyone needs a small block chevy in their life and everyone and everythings problems would go away. :) :D

Except for the problem of where I would put it. Also, I'm not saying GM motors are crap. I will say that I, personally, have had a lot of bad luck with GM's.

I'm not gonna argue with that and I understand and agree with that too, to a certain extent. Are we talking GM as a whole? or modern GM anytime after lets say 2008? Obviously any modern part, no matter what brand, will eventually fail, because manufacturing got cheaper and all of the electronics and sensors and everything high tech being put into these cars in modern times will certainly do that. Compare the amount of recalls, any brand, pre 2010, to now. so much brands are failing bc of that, plus the economy over all because no one is buying these new cars because they can't afford them in the first place.

At the port theres so many VWs just sitting there bc they can't get them to dealers as they don't have the space.

We got two

We got two. My 05 has a major tick snd slight grind as it warms up. Once warm i can red line and spin the tires. Feels and sounds no different even though it has a dead cylinder. Truck two is following in tge same foot steps.

Wel duh. I dont have money for real cars yet. 🤣
I'm just speaking from my experiences. 🤷‍♂️
You've obviously never owned a Ford Escort. Or a K-Car.
K car, I got a honda down the street. golden era to say the least. wish I can have a ride in it again. super fun car. VTEC baby.
🤷‍♂️

I love to build custom sound systems in vehicles. I used to do it for a living until the craze died. By building these systems, I learn a lot about how a vehicle is built because I have to take a lot of the vehicle apart to do these installs. Anyhow, I will say this for certain, GM has the worst interiors out there. The plastic is cheap and brittle, the seats are easily scratched, and don't even get me started on the headliners.

GM's engines and drivetrain are about as good as the next American vehicle, but their electronics and interior kills it for me.

I have owned a Ford Escort and a Chevy Berreta. My Berreta had a lot more problems than my Escort. If you're comparing an Escort to a truck, then that's not a fair comparison. Everyone knows a cheap car will less reliable than the company's main income, that being a truck.

I can go out and take pics of my 18yr old trailblazer. looks like new.
It depends how well you take care of your cars. Not a battle of brands.

After it got detailed but still....... ?
Per my guys at the shop, cleanest engine oil they ever seen.
Yes, the plastic trim around some of the door handles are gone, this is due to plastic clips that break. due to age. not quality.
