I'm going to be in the market for a new matress, just the mattress in the next few weeks.
Some for sures are I am buying from Walmart.com, I am not going over $350 range.

With that said, I've looked at 3 different ones.

a 10" pillow top, which has 4 layers of foam then springs.
a 10" memory foam and spring, which is 2 layers memory, one poly and then springs.
a 12" memory, 4 thick layers of memory.

Keep in mind I'm real heavy.

In order.

Mattresses are like clothes, you really should try them on before buying.

I've not liked any memory foam mattress I have tried. The closet one on your list to what I have is the Slumber 1.

My matress set cost (retail) $1300, but got it for $250 from my brother in law who is a furnature wholesaler.

I agree with Rob but add that you need to try it in the same configuration you will use it. The box spring or stand that it's on will make a big difference. About 4 years ago my wife and were shopping for a mattress. The problem for us was that she wanted to keep her waterbed frame(drawers underneath) and head board. We shopped all over and found one we really liked but failed to try it in a solid frame like we would be using it. Once we got it home and set up I hated it! Any more than 6 hrs and my back is killing me on it. It cost almost $700 and my wife refused to allow me to take it back even though she said she did not like it very well either.

I've only now convinced her I have to do something about it and we're looking at adding a foam topper or box spring.

I have an memory foam over spring mattress ($1800.00) and I hate it! It was good for about 6 months then it just lost it's support. I was better off with my old spring mattress!

Buy a mattress cover, if it has ANY stain are marking on it they claim it can void the warranty. I got a dirt spot on mine when I moved into the new house and now I'm stuck with it.

I can see you SMaxxin. :D
I don't remember the brand of the box spring and mattress I got, but I added a 2" egg crate foam pad, then a 4" memory foam pad. That's all covered with a standard mattress padded cover, and still, 4 years after I got it I still go, "Aaaaaaahhhhh" every time I lay down.
There are two things you should NEVER cheap out on, your bed and your shoes, because if you're not in one you're in the other. I also apply that to my desk chairs because of back problems.
Those items make a MAJOR difference in how you feel at the end of the day or when you get up in the morning.

I have A Serta style California king with 4 inch pillow top on top and bottom with matching box springs. most comfortable bed I've ever been on. With th box spring sitting on the ground with no frame, it sits almost 4 ft tall.

If you're stuck on buying from Walmart.com then I'd find stores that have the mattresses you're looking at from there so you can try them at the other stores and buy them from Walmart.com.

I'd never go off just user reviews alone. With that said I've got a tempurpedic rhapsody mattress and LOVE it. But I'm sure you won't find that at Walmart... :(

Lloyd if you decide to shop around and maybe spend a little more I tried out an icomfort last week and that thing felt great!!!

I can see you SMaxxin. :D

I need new camo and a better hiding spot!

I have a regular pillow top mattress with box springs and put a 4" memory foam topper on it and really like it.

I just bought a new bed called the Doctors Choice by Denver Mattress. They are on sale and I believe can be purchased by the piece. I tried beds for two months and it is a great sleep!

Yeah I wont beable to afford any more is the problem. But then again anything is gonna be better than my current mattress. Its only 6" thick and really worn out. You can feel a bunch of the internal springs all over, it sucks lol.

My parents have one very simular to the first one I linked to, which is real comfortable.

One thing I was worried about on the memory foam one is how long it would beable to return to its shape before it was worn out, guess I'll move away from that idea, never really wanted one either.

I also wondered about just buying a topper for my current matress.

Thats the problem with my mattress, the ten inches of memory foam held it's shape for about 6 months, now it has a big dip were I sleep.....I have rotated it a couple of times already!

Thats a waste of money then. FAIL on memory foams behalf :D

Let me start by saying I'm a cold natured person in general, I hate the cold. I tried a tempurpedic and hated it, I was roasting within a half hour, couldn't sleep on it at all. I have a Serta perfect sleeper with pillow top, and I hate it too. Too darn hard to drag myself out of it in the mornings :D, great mattress and box springs set.

I have a futon. I prefer a pretty firm mattress, and most normal mattresses are just too soft and springy for me.

ALL mattresses need to be flipped regularly or they will get out of shape. I flip mine or rotate it every time I change sheets. That goes for the pads also.

My Sealy Perfect Sleeper Euro Pillowtop can be rotated but not flipped. That was and still is my one concern. But flipping it voids the warranty...

All this mattress talk and I'm now in the market for something new, were looking at a sleep number system.

Mine can't be flipped but I did rotate it 4 times in the first 6 months, it still lost it's shape :(
