So there seems to be a decent amount of fan fare for the old Axial Wraith. It's been out of production for quite some time, and there isn't much remaining on Ebay to pick from. Some nitwit has a new body for sale at $150, and that's comical unless you gotta have that OG body.

Here is what you gotta ask yourselves:

1. Is it the body which makes it desirable?
2. Is it the terrible plastic tube chassis that you all love?
3. Was it the trailing arm design and it's ability to rock bounce?
4. Was it the AR 60's rolling beefy 2.2's that got you hooked?
5. What makes a Wraith a Wraith?

I like the look of it in general. I have no experience with them, nor have I seen one in person. I like the look of the body, outboard wheels, the 2.2s, and the fact that it's now rare and I enjoy the hunt for one. I know if I find one that's reasonably priced that it's probably going to be a dumpster fire but I enjoy a restoration project.

I just saw a couple rollers on eBay for probably too much money, they are a great looking platform but I don’t have any experience with them. I admit I would like to have one, I’m just not into spending too much money on rare items like that.

I dont have any personal experience as I'm not much of a crawler guy. I just know they were really popular back when they were out. A lot of folks either had em or talked about em.

The one you linked is pretty much the same price, and you'll throw 75% of it in the trash. Been there, done that. My Wraith is well over $1000.

That’s a lot of money sitting right there.
So basically if you wanted a wraith, the axles are what counts

Yes, in that I feel AR-60's are the key element, but not Axial plastic ones. Vanquish are a nice choice for those.

I'm still pondering running the OG body, but on a carbon rail chassis with TGH transmission.

what kind of motor did you put in yors? i want to swap ther nrear axle out on mine for 4w steer, its brushed so i dont really care for that, and I'm broke atm so ccant aford a monster motor for it sadly, but i have a wraith. doont see what the fuss is about yet

I ended up running the Hobbywing AXE 540 system ( first gen ) and it was pretty darn good. So much has changed in electronics since then that it's hard to think of putting another AXE in the truck, but it's a good system. If we do a rebuild, I'll most likely install another HW 2300 Fustion Pro.

I have a few of those on hand I can salvage one
Would it be too much for the plastics? That's the only keeping me from swapping today so to speak because I can't afford to replace driveshafts at this point lol
