Not your typical build thread but heres something I just built. A 24V 1500W power supply for my Lipo chargers and what not.

I wished I had the knowledge/know-how for these type of stuff.

You remind me of this YouTuber. Check out his channel, he is crazy talented and imaginative!

Its actually not terribly difficult to do if you have the tools. When I get more time I'll try to add a write up on how its done.

The link you put up there is pretty cool. There are definitely some creative people out there :)

I made a similar one using HP's PSU's. I had bought a prebuilt one from http://lipoconnectionsolutions.com where he used 72A dell PSU's. The fans in it were annoying. With <3A load, they would run 100%, which really sucked near the end of the charge cycle or when I was discharging packs I didn't use for the day.

I sold that unit off and got a single HP unit off ebay, then decided to get another since I had 2 chargers. Wasn't thinking at the time and ended up with 2 different models, so a month later, I got another that matched the model of the better of the two then did the ground float thing and wired them together for a 24V psu. The fans in all the HP ones were silent without a load and not that loud even when pulling 30A out of them.

I just used plastic washers/screws I got off amazon for the ground floating as well as resistors to power them up.

Just letting you know in case your fans are annoying:

Yeah, I ended up using the pin outs to limit the fan to 25% fan speed cuz they are suuuuper loud at 100%. I've got my eye on some new PSUs to use for the next build like the ones you're using that are 1000W ea. I'm thinking about building a huge LiFePo4 battery bank and powering it using 4 of those PSUs wired up in 2S2P so I can play with car stereo amps and subs in my garage but thats down the line soemwhere. The problem with this build is that if I do that I'm going to have to have a separate 20A breaker installed in my breaker box and a special dedicated 110V line run to my garage just to power the PSU. Its on my bucket list though. :)

The way he modified the prebuilt dells, I don't think there was a way to do that with those. To be honest, I'd have been fine if they needed to run when under load, but the fact that they ran 100% with no load just got on my nerves, fast. Since my RC room is also my office...
