hello! my question i am sure has been asked many times but a lot has changed in technology and i was wondering what the best temp gun for the money is? One that will last a long time because after my axail temp guns recent spin in the washing machine i need another before i can do my heat cycle break in. thanks!
also if you have an axail temp gun did you have any problems with it because i would like to buy another of those

I had a Tempgun.com one and really liked it till I was reading the temp of the surface water of the pool and the rope thingy broke and it went in. I had a duratrax one before that and it seemed ok, but I guess there not real accurate.

just go down to sears and pick up a craftsman temp gun.
i love mine

shoot its a craftsman. anything happends to it then just take it back. well sears does have its limits but u know what i mean

Harborfreight has one for 10 bucks. Pretty good deal. Looks like the Cen Tech gun.

I have been using a Duracrap one for a while and never had a problem with it. Every now and then I check it against my buddies Raytec and there has never been more than 3 degrees difference.

Best bang for the buck is the new O'Donnells TX1. It is dead nuts accurate with a $200 exogen. It's also backlit AND it has a stop watch for timing out put stops. Can be had for $35 at most places. I have used an Atomic, off by about 15 degrees, a Tempgun.com off by 20 degrees, and the Craftsman that is made by Raytek off by 20 degrees +. The O'Donnells is the only accurate gun I have ever used so far. It's also very close to the reading I get from Nomadio Sensor.

They also have a laser version for about $40 that is a non-contact. Plus it has the cool red laser pointer.

i will be buying the one that jetmech suggested thanks every one!

Why not get a Nomadio radio React or Sensor built in temp gun and they are the fastest responding radios made. :D
