Team Orion Modified motors?

My brother is thinking about getting faster motors for his B4 instead of selling it (still for sale tho) and buying a 1/8 nitro buggy. I was looking on tower and I found these Orion motors for really cheap. If he was going to get one, how many turns should he get? thanks.

if you want speed i think you should get close to the lowest turn motor your esc will handle

He has a GT7 which can handle any turn.

The lower the turn the faster it is...And the faster it is the faster it will need a rebuild. When you get around 12 turns and under the speed is awesome but the motor lasts 15-20 runs then needs a rebuild.

we rebuild ours (even the stock ones) after4-6 runs. Then again, that's in a racing situation.

what do you mean by rebuilding them? cutting the comms?

Yes, and cutting or replacing the brushes and springs.

Ohhh.. thats easy then... This guy at my lhs cutts comms for $5. Me and my brother have replaced brushes and springs about 4 times just for his Revenge of the monster stock since he got it about a month ago. Just picked up 2 more pairs of brushes.

yea, those motors are pretty good, I've ran a few of them. Can't beat the quality for the price.

think they are faster than a Venom Fireball 13 turn double? cuz my brother just got one for his b4 for $25 and its kinda fast, but not at all what he expected. Slow for a mod....

That's because it's a cheap motor. Try better 13t motor and you will see a big difference. This is a better motor fo a good price IMO not the best but much better than the fireball.

Thanks for the info. He only got it because the guy at the lhs said it was a good motor.... stupid...
