Team Associated DR10, Drag Slash, or Losi 22s 69 Camero Drag Car??????

So I'm looking at possibly getting into 1/10 scale No Prep Drag Racing and not sure what car I should get if /when I do. I've looked at the drag slash and have heard good things about it but I'm also a big fan of AE cars not to mention the DR10 is quite a bit cheaper. Then You have the Losi 22s that I've also heard good things about and it falls right between the AE and Drag Slash in $$$ so what would you all recommend based on your own experience especially if you driven or raced all 3. I'm looking to race locally.

My suggestion is look at who discontinued platforms. If you like to hop up, check who has tgd most aftermarket support. I'm slowly building a pink and purple drag slash.

I only have the DR10, but it has been good to me... the 87T Spur gear was the first to go, replaced with a 78T and using a 26T pinion.

The DR10 shares a ton of parts with their DB10, SC10, RB10, Trophy Rat, etc.

If you want to be competitive in teh no prep scene you're going to end up buying a kit to transform one of the rigs you mention in to something else entirely anyway so it doesn't really matter. If you want to be competitive look in to something like the DRC Maverick 24. Exotech makes kits to try and make the DR10, Slash, and the Losi 22 in to more competitive rigs. If I was going to go that route, Id probably get the Losi 22 and the Exotech Vader chassis if they still make that one.

If you dont care abotu being competitive in the race scene then Id still pick teh Losi 22 and just have fun with it.

yea I'm not to worried about being competitive I just enjoy the hobby and the community around the Hobby I race 1/8 scale Buggies and Truggies at our local dirt track so I'm just looking to branch out in the rc racing scene a little I've even looked into dirt oval as well

I’m in the same boat for looking at getting into electric no prep. Here’s what I’ve found

Drag Slash is good but limited tuning wise unless you add aftermarket parts.

DR10 is a great performer similar to the drag slash but with better tuning options out of the box

Losi 22S drag car has been discontinued but still looks to have good parts availability. I personally think this is the best looking option

DR10M will be the fastest of these options as it is a mid motor and has a better weight bias. Not to mention other suspension and chassis options that have been upgraded over the DR10

All these platforms have extensive aftermarket options to the point where they will hardly resemble their out of the box counterpart.

If I just wanted to have fun and budget wasn’t a factor I’d get the drag slash. Parts for it will be at every LHS and it will likely be around for a while.

If budget was a factor I’d look at a used 22s or used dr10 RTR

Currently the boat I’m in is that budget is a factor as I’m not sure how far into this I want to go. I’m leaning towards the DR10 as it seems to be the best entry level option from a price and tuning standpoint. It has some pretty intense aftermarket options also.

If budget wasn’t a factor I’d buy the DR10M kit because it will perform better. But currently is listed at slightly over half the price of the DR10 on Amain

If budget REALLY REALLY wasn’t a factor I’d be looking at a DragRace Concepts, Exotec, or Custom Works kit

Racing locally id find what classes are ran by your local club. If they don’t have a class for what you buy then you’ll have to modify. Best bet is a box stock class that you could race an RTR in. Here in STL the nprc guys mostly run Outlaw dry tire because of low turnouts and being unable to form full classes

Honestly, more important than which car is what your local scene is already running. Whatever platform has the most people racing nearby is gonna save you so much headache when it comes to finding parts or getting setup advice. DR10 and Drag Slash both have solid communities but if your track has a bunch of Losi guys, that matters way more than the price difference.

id honestly check what most people at your local track are running first, matters way more than picking the 'best' car. makes setup advice and parts sourcing so much easier when you're just getting into it
