2nd 4WD Car, 2nd Kit, First On-Road car. Gifted by @WickedFog early '24. Got rid of it in December of 2024 due to funds.

The steering doesn't return to center in the video. Is there any binding in the steering?
I have over torqued a screw or 2 in my steering and found the bellcrank posts were bindind. Similarly, overtightened the kingpins on the steering hubs and bound up there.
I also get crap response with a plastic bellcrank where a metal one took a ton of slop out and also helped the steering re-center. I don't want to suggest investing a lot in this car but is there a cheap metal bellcrank set that you could try before the car is set on the shelf?
I shimmed the heck out of the suspension which tightened the whole car up a lot.
Just some thoughts. It looks like it goes pretty good @45%!!!

My Dad Steve has a TT-02 the 2015 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Nurburgring which is now discontinued. He wanted to make into a Rally car but had lots of issues with and eventually gave up on it and it now collects saw and air dust in the garage. Had the stock included ESC and motor but he put in an aftermarket servo and Flysky GT3B radio also a team fast eddy bearing kit.

This most likely the only Tamiya he'll ever have and like what @DavidB1126 went through with his you'd just be better off with a newer Yokomo RS1.0 or 2.0 or a Traxxas 4-Tec 2.0

Yea I gave mine over to @Panko75 for a rebuild and to do whatever he wanted to do.

Kinda regret getting rid of it but I'm also like if I kept it I'll be stressing myself out more so. Because you really don't know how terrible Tamiya TC kits are until you build them yourself.

Ideally like said Traxxas 4tec, kyosho Fazer, and there's a couple better budget options. But wanting to get into Onroad TC(high quality kit wise) is too expensive for me because my local track doesn't run a tt02 class and at first I was like ok I can just run in the normal class but now I'm like yeah no way I would be able to keep up. And I'm still questioning why most people recommend a Tamiya for "best onroad budget kit" when you have to do a whole lot to the car when building and it will be costing just as much as a TRF belt drive kit lol
Ideally Tamiya kits besides the TRF racing ones are meant for display cars because their cheap enough to look good in the shelf but not high quality to preform well just in the backyard or street not even talking about on the track.

If he wants to get rid of it I may be interested. For the right price lol

To be honest, I bought the car mostly for the motor bundle, then re-built it with a Surpass brushless system and had some fun before stripping one of the screws for the steering linkage. I fixed it, but I haven't done much else with it.

The older TL-01 and TA02 chassis were better imo, they didn't need much work to be turned into rally cars.
