I am new to the hobby, building my first Tamiya Egress and in the instructions it mentions using "instant cement" to secure the plastic motor mount to the carbon chassis. Is this just super glue as there was no cement in the box?

Just to clarify, you are to place a small bead of CA glue (aka instant cement) around the edges of all carbon fiber parts including the shock towers, chassis, etc.

DO NOT glue any plastic parts to the chassis!

That is telling you to superglue the cut edge of the chassis to keep it from delaminating. Common thing to do on carbon fiber parts. Definitely do not glue any parts to your RC 😉

And welcome to RCTalk!

Welcome to the site.

Haven't built a Tamiya since the 80s... thinking they might be a bit different these days.
It was great fun building it from start to finish. Just waiting to paint the bodywork next.
