How exactly do u get the hex screws out of the engine to get the heat coil off i hear its put on with lock tight and a normal allen key is way to hard to turn
 
Turn harder.

If it's really tight, a solid wrap to the top of the bolt with a small hammer should crack it loose. Heat never hurts either.
 
and when i put them back in i take it i should use some blue lock tight ?
 
Um... what are you referring to as the "heat coil"? To take the glow plug out, you just put a wrench on the glowplug itself and twist. lefty loosey righty tighty...

Unless your talking about one of those little cox type airplane engines... then I'm not sure.
 
i mean the top end part that goes on top of the block to cool it i wanna take it off so i can clean around the glowplug i probally have the complete wrong term. i have a savage x 4.6 and its the purple part that you put the glow plug kinda inside lol sorry I'm a noob thanks for your patience
 
Cooling head.

I wouldn't say you need to locktite it. Just make sure the bolts are snug and check every once in a while. Make sure the threads are clean and a little oil is good to keep the bolt from sticking next time. Steel and aluminum stick together, so smoe sort of antisieze, be it in the form of a dab of motor oil or real antisieze lube, should be used to prevent breaking bolts. Infact, blue loctite is often used in such a manner. Its bond is a lot less aggressive than a seized bolt.
 
Invest in a good set of RC style wrenches. You will thank youself for it in the short and long run. Just figure out what sizes you need and buy them, or buy a kit.

If I'm not mistaken, most head bolts are 2.5mm hex.

Hudy, Team Losi, MIP, OFNA all make nice sets for RC use.

Like 'Yourgrandma' said, the hex bolts in the cooling head just need to be tight, not overly tight. Both the cooling head and engine case are aluminum and there is a possiblity of stripping out an hole or cracking something if you over tighten them. Can the blue locktite be used on something that gets that hot? Not sure of the temp limitations on it.

I usually leave the glow-plug installed, soak a Q-tip in Denatured Alcohol and shove it down there to clean. Then I'll back the plug out a turn or so, so that I can get under it a little bit without knocking anything into the combustion chamber. Beats taking the MF'er off and gets the job done. ( Did I mention that I'm also kinda lazy? )

Another way is to hold the rig upside down (or close too it), then take out the glow plug and clean the area around the hole. With it upside down, gravity keeps stuff from falling in the engine and with the GP out, you can clean it really well.
 
hey a good way to take them off is get the way wrench that a starter kit comes with and get the allen wrench and the break them lose
 
Definitely go with the Q-tip in either alcohol or WD-40. Make sure it's not sopping wet, just enough to mat the fibers down a little and then just get in there with it flipped over like the other guy said. It'll mop it out pretty well. A good 'ol air compressor is great, too. You'll eventually want to pull the carb off and give that a good cleaning, but otherwise leave the motor together until it dies. How you doin' on those flips?
