i just bought a t-maxx and I am having some problems with the engine.
it sounds like it is really rich, because it is making a gurgling sound and there is a lot of smoke. but the thing is when I lean out the lsn, it starts getting too hot and smoking. any ideas?
also, when i accelerate it screams and moves a little bit, and it takes a couple of seconds to react. i just replaced the spur gear, does it need to be tightened?

You high speed needle(HSN) is probly rich and low speed(LSN) is lean, try leaning out hsn a little at a time and do a pinch test engine should idle up a little the cut out at 3-4 seconds this is for getting LSN tuned in

ok thanks any other suggestions?

Be patient and don't try to tune for max performance until you get a gallon thru it.
Use hot long plugs and a good 30% fuel with no more than 12% oil.

ok, the guy that i bought the truck from used a different fuel, how much would that effect performance.

Stick with what it's used to. 20% is what you should run.
Changing fuels also requires additional tuning, so don't get involved with that now.

It sounds like you need to tighten down the slipper.

ok thanks, i already tightened down the slipper clutch.
thanks again.
