 Hey, I'm looking to buy a T-Maxx 25 or Savage 25. Basically I want the truck that can take a beating. If there is something better please let me know. I'm not so much concerned with speed, but I don't want it to be a slow peice of crap either (lol). Something that has a lot of durability, I really want to beat the hell out of this truck. I don't need a RTR because I already have a radio, but i'm also looking for the best deal. So I'm really up to your suggestions. Thanks :help:

I was gonna say this post is just like a thousand others until you stated you don't want an RTR.

There is no T-Maxx kit. (Aside from CyberMaxx or SuperMaxx kits which put a higher amp draw on your wallet.)

The Savage .25 is an excellent kit. The Maxx and Savage aren't the same size, either. T-Maxx engine displacement is 2.5cc (0.15ci) while the Savage is 0.25ci (4.1cc).

I like to say my T-Maxx with a Picco .26 has a 426 in it. No hemispherical head, however.

I would say get the savage. The savage is more durable then the t-maxx and if you dont want an rtr then you can't get the t-maxx. The t-maxx tends to break alot easier then the savage so i would say get that. Also the saage isnt slow it is fastre then the t-maxx.

If you don't need a RTR simply because you already have a radio, then you can just sell the RTR's radio sysem on ebay or wherever. If you are looking for a kit you can build, your only choice is the Savage SS.

So I guess I'm getting the Savage. Thanks guys you been a great help. Now I was going to buy it at the local hobby shop does anyone have a good website that I could order it from. Thanks

That's the best price i've seen around. I have a maxx that i've dumped a small fortune into. I bought it because i'm an idiot... well, not really. But i did put a lot of $ into it to be able to get a weekends worth of beating out of it before it needed major repairs. Since i don't have a savage, i can't tell you how good it is. But i can tell you i'm in the process of saving for the SS as well.

the savage is litereally indestrucable.

maybe since u got radio gear already, build a savage from aftermarket parts. id say leave the a-arms stock as well as the chasis plates and shock towers. the mill is kick ass so dont worry about that, its powerful enough and easy to start and tune. get that way ud start with a rocksolid truck and not really spend that much more money

The ratio of people selling savages to maxx's on ebay is about 1/10.

That has to tell you something.

I've been searching ebay for a savage, and people just don't seem to want to get rid of them to bad. The ones who do aren't selling them for any less that you find retail. At least i haven't found any yet.

The key to his question is the desire for a non-RTR RC. The Savage is a great truck to get as a kit, but as mentioned the T-Maxx can be bought as an RTR. Then you could dump the stock radio and servos. I have one of each truck. In both cases, I dumped the stock radio, receiver, and servos for my preferred radio, receiver and servos.

It is entirely up to how much you want to spend and what you are looking for in a truck. Do not let the RTR be the only deciding factor.
