I went to the father in laws house this Saturday for a late Thanksgiving and I took the T Maxx. As I was running it I ran out of gas so I got some from my father in law. He has 6 nitro helis and 1 turbine heli. Anyway he uses 30% in his helis so I used some in my T Maxx and let me tell ya, I never seen my O.S. Max 15cv run so fast. He also help tune it better since I messed it up. I was running 20% but I am going to continue to use 30%. Using 30% shouldnt mess up the motor will it. Hopefully not, cause it screams.

The only thing about fuel that I've heard is once you go to a certain % you can't go back down!

That is what I heard, but my father in law said that he thinks it wont be that bad if you dropped back down to 20%. If the 30% doesn't harm the motor which it seemed not to las night then I am going to stick with 30% because it made it run flawlessly. Thanks for the reply itsbrad.

I've heard you get better power or performance from the increase in %, but supposedly it will shorten the life of the engine........just what I heard, don't know if that holds true or not, maybe Sky or one of the other mods/admin's may have more enlightening knowledge on this one...........:read:

You MUST add a shim to the head or you will destroy your engine. Basic rule of thumb add half again what is already shimmed. I would recommend finding the specs of whatever engine you are using, and find what you should use recommended by the company that makes the engine. The reason it was running so good is you are running a gernade. At some point it WILL blow.

Plus without shimming for 30% it will run very hot and have inconnsistant heat cycles.

And you can go back and forth if you like, just re-shim again for 20% when you do.

Thank you diffgrinder for the info. It sure was blazing when I added the 30%. So just take the shimes that is on it and add half of that to it. Right on bro. So if I do this then I should have no problem right. Once again thanks for possibly saving my O.S.Max 15CV, my O.S. thanks you too.

No Prob, thats what friends are for:lick:

I would recommend checking with OS to be sure of the amount to add, it is always best. But half again rule covers if you can't find out.

I just bought a o.s. 15 cvx and it says you can run 30% with out shimming in the manual. hope that helps. :hammer:

I ran 30% Blue Thunder Race formula in my OS CVX Hyper for about a gallon & a half with no problems.. Just watch your temps, & keep it a hair on the rich side... That motor rocks with 30%.......

I usually use odonell 20%, my LHS only sells odonell 25%, would this be a safe compromise with out any shiming at all? and how much difference would the 5% make?

Thanks shady and imbroken. Yes imbroken, I was totally surprised how well and how fst it ran with the 30%.
