theres no such thing as slow and lazy with mine. i turn the throttle trim down and it dies

188.8 degrees, then a car came out of nowhere and almost killed it. and the mail lady was hinkin, smilin, and wavin. but it stopped with the excessive speeding up and slowing down.

the piece of rubber tubing that keeps the pullstart from being pulled way in is also splitting. how can i fix this?

ziptie came to mind. but i wasn't sure if there was somethin else, thanks

pull the pull starter out about half way tie it to something then take the handle off and replace tubing . its how i fix mine just make sure you get a really stiff tubing

also i got a new os 30vg today cuz my brother wants on so i put it in my truck for break in. at factory settings first tank was 156f waited 15 mins next tank was 178 waited again . tank 3 was 203 it was going up by allmost 15 a tank.
and i was not touching the settings at all. after about the 6 tanks it was sitting about 245 steady so i leaned it out a little and it took it up to about 265. witch it just what the settings say for brake in. then i just ran it for another 3 tanks. took it out and put it in his truck and said have fun lol.

ps the os30 is a bitch to start when cold get a heat gun. get the temp up to about 230 then start. after you break it in then you dont really need the gun.

well I'm no expert at nitro stuff..and mine starts like a champ cold

got tired of people complaining about the max temp i could get it to, and saying it wasn't right

i just used a few zipties and spread them around the tube. i didnt get to do more on it today though. i was too busy trying to get my new car started. but it hasnt been run in 7 years and the engine is weird because its so old. so idk if it will ever start

i reallly dont know. its hard to get it primed, and once i do get it primed, i can't pull the pullstarter.

Seven years old and never been ran? Good find. Keep at it. A buddy of mine found and old RC plane in the attic that was his dad's from 20 something plus years back....engine was so gummed up that it would not even turn over. We cleaned it up and melted the crap out with a heat gun and it still runs great. So if that heap would run keep at it. There is hope. Glad to here it survived the car encounter.....my arch nemesis are brick mailboxes. They have a magnetic draw. Hows the run-in doing?

Is the pull starter slipping (one way bearing) or is it just plain stuck and can't be pulled out? Have you tried turning the flywheel? I have had a stuck one way just lock and engine up so tight nothing could move it. Worst case is the piston seized.

it has been run. just not much. and the pullstarted just gets hard to pull, its easy before i prime it. also i pulled it last night and it wasn't pulling itself back in very well.

spring in the pullstart's broken woot woot. thats the 1st problem with it. guess ill have to take it to hobbytown and see if they got one like it.

Well that surely sucks....might check on the prices of a roto start too. That is about all I have anymore. What kind of engine is it? Make, model, size? I have see them on sickhobbies.com for quite cheap.....like $30 for a backplate and starter.

:constipatI had the same problem about the pullstart not comming back, i unscrewed the pullstart (checked the one way bearring at the same time for dirt. And i put it back a little less tight, it work for me!!:2cents:

Where is it broke? Just the end? I've reformed the end of the spring before and used it for many gallons again after having an end snap off. You just have to heat the tip up with a little torch before bending it. That takes the temper out so it doesn't just snap when you try to bend it.

about 1.5-2 inches is broken off the tip that turns. i dont know if i'd even be able to get it back together though.
