I am still new to the nitro ranks here is my problem. I had to replace some parts on my SUT so I tore the whole thing down to check on everything. Well I replace a few worn parts and added fluid to the diffs as suggested in the set up book I had. Well now when I fire the truck up and set it down to run it does not go anywhere. But when I have it running on my starter box or stand it runs fine.

Is the problem in the center diff? I also replaced the clutch bell and clutch shoes. Any help would rock because there are no local hobby shops where I live now so i have to figure this out on my own.

I know the front and rears are in right because I was very carefull to make sure I baged everything according to where it came from.

I noticed if you try and push the truck on the ground with it not running on all fours it feels like its locked up, lift up the front or rear those wheels will turn with out a problem.

well as long as u installed the diffs in w/the ring gear on the correct side such that all 4 turn 4ward ok. all ur driveshafts are in and not binding i'm sure. check ur front carriers to see if the bolts that go thru the carrier to the knuckle in front are not catchin the cvd. some do that, if so need washers to shim it properly. the other likely scenario is that 1 of ur center drive joints (mounts on the pinion shaft on each diff and catches the center dogbone or center cvd) has come loose. if so 2wd and slowly thereafter 4wd on the bench, nothing on the ground.

check these and report back, but verify that all 4 wheels spin 4ward on the bench. what clutch setup?

well when i rotate the tires on the stand they DO NOT go the same way. If I rotate the front ones forward the rear ones go in the opposite direction.

either ur front or rear diff has been put in backwards.

spin ur front tires 4ward again, check if ur spur is rotating the right way (clockwise if lookin at it from front.....rotates from top to bottom towards exh pipe). if its not, ur front is backwards. if it does turn the right way, then ur rear is backwards.

ok the spur is rotating the right way. Now what part of the rear diff is in backward? Is it the whole thing?

just take it out and flip it so the conical gear sits on the other side (dont need to rebuild the diff dont let me mistake u), slip ur dogbones back in and go.

spin it w/the back off to see how it rotates and confirm it spins right direction.

u said u rebuilt everythin, i assumed it was runnin fine b4, so i thought u made the honest mistake we all make once in a bit.

I live in cumberland where there is NO RC action. I don't want to sell the truck just wish i had a place to race it close by.

Yea the truck ran fine befor but I had a bunch of stuff break at one time due to someone that wanted to see how fast there truck could go and t-boned me.

well i got if flipped i hope i did it right have not had time to run it yet

Ok here is whats its doing. Hit the gas to go forward and its going backward!! How do i fix it?

lol, then u flipped the wrong 1, the other 1 than what u flipped was the 1 that was backwards. now u need to flip both remembering their orientation such u get it right.

now u know everythin worx, just need to flip front/rear diffs. i just fixed the clutch in mine, couple more tweax on needle and WOW!!!!

its ready to go this wkend. buggy on otherhand, not so much (grrr)

Thanks for the help Ultegra. It runs in the right direction now!! It needs some per formance tunage but I am not going to mess with that because i have no idea how. If I just had a place to race....

man ur far out there, 4got how far it was, nearest action to u might be somethin in hagerstown or pa. not certain. thats beat ur not closer, plenty of tracks round here.

my truck is now haulin butt after some work on nigglin issues, breakin in new buggy motor as well 2nite. quite busy.

check around near u in pa to see if there's a track.

There might be some tracks in Pa that might work. The only thing I will be doing in hagerstown is Drag racing my Z28 when its done at the body shop. Where do you race your focus at?
