I want to hear any engine break in horror stories. I was breaking in my brand new Revo 3.3 the other week, and somehow during tank 3 I managed to roll on the throttle to 1/2 before testing it out as a submarine in over a foot of water in my neighbors ditch. Ran over, grabbed it out, pulled apart the engine, cleared out the water, re-greased and sprayed out electronics and somehow a gallon later it still rips! Suggested skill level my ass :D :(

When I got my first T-Maxx 5 years ago I found out it had a bind in the linkage at WOT. I was starting it, faning the thottle to give it a bit of help....I think it was tank 4? It lit off and took off across the yard wide open.....It hit a hump, flipped, landed upside down, busted the tank and engine died. That was the onlt real damage. I had to clean dirt out of the carb though because the fitler also popped off. Traxxas filters suck....

When i was running in my HSP WARHEAD a few weeks ago i was following the book and they recommend driving it at 1/4 on the 3rd tank up and down the road. I had yet to receive my fail safe and though well I'm not going far so it shouldn't matter and only had cheap batteries in my controller and receiver. After doing about 3 passes the radio cut out and the car went to WOT and went straight up my road. It didn't turn or anything and went about 150, 200 meters. When i finally reached it, can't outrun a RC it was sitting in the dirt with no air filter on and the wheels had been spinning flicking dirt everywhere, god knows how much dirt ended up in my engine and it was boiling hot.. i could actually hear it bubbling and i hadn't brought my tool to put it at BDC because i was to busy trying to catch it.

I got 3 litters out of that engine and it is still sitting in my car dead waiting for funds to rebuild it or replace it

LOL :first_place::first_place::first_place:

My only horror stories for break-ins are due to bludgened fingers...

My aftershock had a fist full of carb/fuel filter issues out of the box. This was the end of my first tank of fuel:

Just did most of my break-in for my LRP last weekend... finger looked about the same, 10 tanks though... I kept flooding the stupid thing because I mounted the MGT primer bulb too close to the carb.

thats why i'm going for mechanic lol...we use big boy toyz...lmfao...pull starts don't bother me..i like them better then a drill start because you can feel what the engine is doing...

With you 100% there. Finally, another person that proffers pull starts!

My hands weren't always this way, but 13 years at a desk writing software takes it's toll on both your beltline and hands apparently.
