You have to be a subscriber to post an avatar pic. You can put profile pictures, but not avatar pictures. Along with being a subscriber, you get many other things like more saved PMs, a signature, etc.

That's the reason I pay month to month, instead of in-bulk every 6 or 12 months. Nothin beats that warm fuzzy feeling on a monthly basis.
