Take these screws out. Then pull the axle, hub, and spindle out as one unit.

Then you can get a better look at things. I thought maybe you could somehow split the axle and push them through, but if you could, it would mean those pins could get into your axle. But I just tried to get the pins out if ours, and gave up. They are pressed in there, and I remember having to hammer them in. REALLY STUPID design.

You can say that again. That's that most odd design choice I've ever seen.

Is the part I circled in red the bottom of the pin?

If so...

Yup. Why they didn't use a 3mm shoulder bolt is beyond me.

Since they used a screw to hold that in, Vitavon should have made the pin a slip fit, and there should have been anti-sieze on that pin to keep it from getting corrosion built up in there.

Try a small centerpunch and a small brass hammer and just tap it out.

"You're going to die clown!"

My goodness, the amount of times I quoted lines from that movie growing up.
Yeah, it has a lot of quotable lines in it.

I can't tell you how many times I have quoted this line out loud with the same anger...
"That's your home! Are you too good for your home?! Answer me!"

I've been using that line so long, I forgot where it came from.

I still wonder if the bottom pin being inserted is causing unwanted pressure against the upper pin. Have you tried removing the lower and then attempt the upper?
Good idear

And @Tunedfrog is onto something too. If you want to disassemble a nitro, you heat the engine up and bearings will fall out of them. So sticking that axle housing in a 150° oven for 10 minutes or so might let those pins come out easier. Just make sure you wear an oven mitt @majin
