Stopping my nitro.

And putting your thumb on the muffler. It's like super-hot! Unless you wear gloves for both methods, I guess you'll be alright.

I use one of those Dubro exhaust deflectors, never burn the fingers killing it that way. Glad the little girl is ok. My girls usually stay on the porch or behind me when I am running because they know it can hurt them.

Jet has the right idea....at idle you can stick yuor thumb in the flywheel slot and stop it...DON"T PUSS OUT...if you don't commit to it it will grind the skin off because you won't stop it with wussy force....I usually tell people to stick their shoe toe in there...works great with bugggies since you can hang it by the wing and kick it in the flywheel real easy....this method will work at WOT too but I usually push the rig into the ground and let the grass jam it in an emergency.....
after I run I disconnect the fuel source / set it on the box and bump it for 30 seconds...then I dump a few drops of ARO and bump it again to sling it all over inside my fuelless engine......

like fishy said, if you just lightly touch it your going to tear up your thumb. If you're a puss, use gloves. I've never injured myself using my thumb.

If I feel like stopping the flywheel, I just use one of my cheap plastic-ended screwdrivers. The plastic end will grip the wheel and stop it with just a tap.

okay okay. I just have a question. Is it bad to cover the exhaust? Nobody but me seems to do that. You can't really stop the flywheel in a MT.

yea i thought you were supposed to put your mouth over the exaust and blow really hard until theres enough back pressure to bring everything to a halt. Man I gotta try the methods listed by you guys, I've been doing it the hard way all this time!

Other than not yewthing my thung anymore, I can't offer any advise. In the past, I've either let it run out of fuel, or if I need to turn it off I plug the exhaust tube with my finger, since it's a real hassle to take off the body to do it any other way. I've never had a problem either way.

LOL I get it Rolex, from your other post. Anyways, I'll try stopping it with my thumb, I hope I just don't wussy out and end up with a hole in my thumb. Or I'll try stopping it with my shoe too.

fuel line

Pinch the fuel line, been doing for ages, as long as your fuel mixture is right is should stop within 4-6 secs. As for burning out glow plugs, I don't know, I use mine nearly every second arvo and usually every weekend for close on 2 months with the same plug. Thats around 6 litres of fuel and it still lights up first time every time.

I too prefer the pinch, to remove the excess fuel from the engine. The muffler plug seems to load the engine with fuel. I have never tried the flywheel method but would think that would cause undue stress on the motor. If you have the motor at idle when pinching the line it doesn't even rev up enough to engage the clutch, I don't see this being enough to put any stress on any part any more than it running at idle but maybe I am missing something.

For sale - One nitro engine stopper. comes with side of beef, and some xtra milk. 1499$ and 500$ shipping.
