Trying different tires on it. The spec foams still spin at half throttle. Full throttle just sends it into a wild spin. Too early on throttle at corner exit is a spin. Going to try some weight on the rear. And a wing but that might look ridiculous. The rubber BSR tires didn't work at all but i honestly don't know how old they are.

I don't think a big wing would look right. I'll figure a place for a bit of weight. It's got stupid acceleration with just 2s lipo.
Please don't add a wing...🙏
Is there any possibility to remove weight from the front first, or move weight to the back, like servo

There is a second build just like this one on the bench. Same body just a different color.

What surface are you dialing it in on? It looks like an rj speed oval chassis?
I'm running on an asphalt parking lot. It's "fairly clean". This is a mid 1980's Bolink car. So yes now remade as an RJ Speed Legends car.

Weight distribution project. Added 2.5 grams using the aluminum stand-off chassis supports over the plastic. Mounted the speed control up and back over the rear axle. Relocated battery to the top and back of battery tray. We shall see if this helps. Also have fresh BSR med-soft tires. The next option is an aluminum belly tray underneath too stop negative air flow and turbulence.

Hope you get her dialed in man. Sounds like you have a good strategy going there.

All that work for zero gain. Still can't run full throttle. I really thought I would gain on it. Maybe I am just overpowering an old antique....wait did I just say "overpowering "? 😆

Quite possible. Dial the throttle curve down til it's drivable, and work your way back up maybe?

It's not bad if you ease into it but just launches at anything over 3/4. It's really only happy at 1/2 throttle....and that's not my goal. I've found a big parking lot about an hour away. Gonna try that on Monday. I'm not holding out much hope.

A kid I went to high school with had a dad who was the best engine builder around. Him and his little brother had badass Chevy's. The older brother had a wicked Nova, and his little brother had a Vega. The Vega had so much power in that little car it was undriveable. That may be what you're fighting.

You're running a bl2s system? Yeah, that's way over powered. Think about it, that's the same combo in a modified/late model/slash that weighs a lot more and has way more suspension. That chassis weighs like a quarter of a slash modified/late model and was meant for something like 380 and 540 motors as the top option, imo.

Yeah I'm realizing that now. I guess I'll pull that system out. I have a quikrun set-up to try. The BL2s is so easy to use.

Can you find a Traxxas motor with that connector and lower kv? What is the kv of that particular motor. Lower kv might do the trick. Esc shouldn’t matter, it just feeds the motor, the motor pulls the amps and does the work, the esc is just the fuel pump, the battery is the tank. The esc in this case should be fine for any 2s motor within its capabilities of course, you just need a motor that isn’t quite that zippy.

I think. 21.5 or even a 25.5. Would give you that full throttle pull. Bl2s is like a 33000-3600kv, around 13.5ish iirc.
Imo can't really translate turns to kv.
My 13.5 in my wheeler states 4100kv no load... 🤷

Me personally id throw in a 10.5 or something and just turn my throttle down in the radio. So you can take the motor out for other projects if needed. See I'm a smart thinker 😉

Lower turns higher kv, but I don’t know all the numbers 😆
