Personally, I wouldn't bother. It seems as if it's a nice enough truck as it is. It's still gonna be fast and take a really good beating if you purchase the alumunum parts I suggested. I have the toe pieces that I posted and haven't had any issues. I do not yet have the steering part although I intend to pick it up this spring as I have had issues with the same plastic steering part a couple times. I guarantee, you get those 3 hop-up parts and you'll be good to go for most any band landing you may encounter.

WT Holy Heck ??? $69 bucks for a two speed ????????? thats NUTS !!!!!! it's not even that expensive over in the UK !!!!

steer clear, you only want two speed if your a speed freak like me, have the space to use it or just don't mind blowing your wad on a possibly un-needed part for a brand new "Fun Machine" so to speak. (Apollogies if that comes across wrong, but i know what i mean)

if your only a basher your pretty much adding more to your maintenance bill, if you intend to race, steer clear, can cause many problems so i hear although i can not vouch for this as i have no experience of the 2 speed tranny in a truggy let alone have i ever RUN a truggy.

I have been looking at the ST-1 though, along with the EK4, As both hold my interest in a BIIIIIIG way, nothing to do with them being of the same manufacturer.

Sorry if i seem off topic here, but..........

Lessen, have you modified the l/h/s servo saver post on the ST-1 to imitate that of the r/h/s ?? I know on the EB4 buggy, the r/h/s (servo side) it is sprung, but the l/h/s is dumb (not sprung). I smashed a half dozen plastic arms before catching on to fitting a sprung set-up on the l/h/s and i have not had a problem since. if you want pics put up, not a prob, its a good mod for added durability and one mod that I DEFINATELY (i'm not shouting, I'm not shouting....Honest i'm not) would recommend if the ST-1 has a dumb l/h/s servo saver.

Eb4- I don't have an ST1, just an S3. I don't have the upgraded steering saver yet, although I'm planning on it. My stock saver is sprung though.

kbig- I don't really think the forward pieces are as necessary as the rears. When bashing I have not broken the forward parts on my buggy.

The only plastic to break, most commonly, is usually the rear toe plate on the front trans, but not sure if the ST-1 rear toe block is plastic. Lessen ?? is it plastic or metal ??

I can't say for sure about the ST-1 but my S3 came with all plastic pieces. I broke the rear plates behind both the front and rear trans cases during a couple hard cartwheels landings. Replaced them both with the TTR red aluminum parts and havn't broken anything since except for the steering crank. It's happend to me twice at the racetrack. It seems like the bell crank is prone to cranking where the ackerman bar attaches to the crank. It seems as if possibly the part isn't thick enough there. Anyways, it's happend to me a couple times and I plan on upgrading to the aluminum steering to do away with this issue. It's the only major weekpoint I've encountered in this buggy as it doesn't seem like it took a hard hit for it to break. Maybe I could have loosened up my saver a bit but I honestly don't think that would help much.

IMO - If you are a good driver and racing only, the only upgrade the S3 needs is the steering. If you are bashing then the rear plates need to be upgraded. As far as the ST-1 is concerned I would go ahead and replace all three because the plates will endure more stresses due to the extra leverage that the longer arms create.

For $400 this buggy is a no-brainer in my opinion, especially when you weigh in the endless positive comments from folks that actually have them. The more we talk about this truggy the more I want one.

I'm going to post a "How-To" on that servo save thing for the EB4, as i'm sure it will be useable on other types of buggy/truggy etc.
