i have an HPI MT2 and i am having alot of trouble starting it. i have a Dubro glow starter that is 1.2 volts. It tends to giggle alot when i start it but eney if i hold it still i spend a whole lot of time starting it. i think that I should use a battery holder with a single c cell battery cause when I used one that i riged it seemed to work better. What do you think? It also dies at random meanwhile i am runinng it. sometimes i will hit the brake and it will just stop. my brother thinks that it is too rich but I'm not sure. it has even died while it was hot and idleing. Anybody have any ideas on what i can do?:wasted:

try a new glowplug cold or medium-cold......what is the temp reading on the engine ? do you see greyish-blue smoke from the exhaust even at top speed ? as for the glowplug heater/starter i use the long reach one that uses the AA size battery......it fits tight on the glowplug

i had the same prob with my XTR 3e when i was usein 16% nitro fuel and i changed to 25% and it runs sweet as a nut now

as far as stalling when u hit the brake, take off the air filter with all the electronics on (not running). when u open the throttle the hole in there should be completely or almost completely opened. when u hit the brake, does the hole completely close or just make a smaller opening? if it completely closes then that may be the problem. tell me whats going on

This would be really obvious to some but to a newb like me it took a while. Like you, I also have an MT2. I bought mine used and assumed it was set up to run, it was already broke in. I never noticed the line from the exhaust to the tank had been rubbing against the flywheel and a small split in the exhaust coupler. Watch the coupler, it is in a place that will get snagged by anything on the ground.

Try checking ur throttle, you might need to play with it because if you hit the breaks and ur engine cuts out then ur throttle closes all the way when you hit the breaks.
