Stampede 4x4 strange noise

I checked the mesh it was paper thin i re set the mesh so now I'm 100% sure its good and what castle setup is good for the pede 4x4 abd would a motot heat sink help with cooling the motor.

Tighten down the slipper and don't back off at all, do a short test run like that just to see if the noise stops...I'm guessing it's the slipper clutch is slipping or the bearing on the slipper is toast.

The vxl motor is very tough, at least it was for me. I ran it 200+ degrees many times for over 6 months and it never even hesitated on me.....I'm not recommending you do that, just sharing my experience. The only reason I replaced mine was because I had an extra motor and I wanted to make sure it was running top notch before I sold the truck. I say run it until it quites then if you want to upgrade go for it, although I found anything much faster than the VXL is pretty much just out of control.

BTW your stampede 4x4 is basically a slash 4x4 with big tires, none of the 1/10 Castle systems will run cool in that rig on 3s.

Would i be able to put a slash 4x4 chassis on my pede and make a slash/pede truck thingy

Old thread , but I can't leave incorrect information lie!
My father wrote the warning you see on the back of LiPo batteries and I have owned 100s of LiPos, that said.....
You should NEVER put your Lipos away "fully charged"!
The Hyperion EOS0606i mentioned here has a storage charge/discharge function, it's called "STORE MODE". Select STORE MODE and set your amp setting to match your LiPo. If you have say a 3000mAh LiPo set the STORE MODE amp setting to
3-Amps, if say a 5000mAh then set your STORE MODE amp setting to 5-Amps. This is a 1C charge rate and safe for most all LiPo batteries used in the RC World. Next set your cell count to match your LiPo , example 2s for a 2cell 7.4volt or 3s for a 3 cell 11.1volt. Start STORE MODE and the Hyperion EOS0606i will do the rest. Don't leave the charger unattended!

As for the Stampede you must check your front AND rear differentials as well as all the ball bearings in the transmission system from front to back. You will definitely find something amiss! Clean, DRY, and lube bearings with proper ball bearing oil or at least machine oil.
If you have aftermarket alloy CVD shafts check the set screw is tight, if not add loctite and tighten, allow to dry.
