GET a fuel filter !!! it is a MUST HAVE part on a nitro rig (much as a fail safe is a must have on ANY r/c rig), a fuel filter is the difference between stopping debris from the tank getting to your engine and wrecking it, or being stopped and caught by the filter and protecting your engine.
my preference is for a "large bore" filter with a stone (why do they call it stone when it is clearly brass/bronze) filter element. I avoid the types with mesh as a filter as they can clog all too easily.
When using a stone filtered fuel filter, ensure the "stone" is on the engine side of the fuel line where the fuel is sucked from the outside of the stone to the inside, it makes it easier to clean since you only have to blow through the stone from the inside to remove the junk from the outside surface. if it is on the fuel tank side, the fuel goes through the filter from the inside out and makes it harder to clean in the long run.
