Are 4x4 STs faster and easyer to handle than 4x4 Monster trucks?
LOwer center of grav etc?

Stadium Trucks are BY FAR better than Monster Trucks in the Handling Department. They can Blast through turns, and Launch Huge Jumps. They have a way lower CG and that makes them much more agile at turning and stuff like that. ST's are quicker and faster, until the MT's 2speed kicks in. But For bashing, and climbing over things, MT's have the ultimate edge due to their huge ground clearance. If your looking into High Speed racing action, Get a ST, But for bashing and a litte bit of racing, A monster truck will do you good. They just are made for everything. Stadium trucks dont fare well on rugged ground-Backyards. There arent many 4x4 ST's out. I know of about three. Two made by HPI: The Nitro MT and the Nitro MT Racer. One is made by Academy and i forget what its called-something like R_4_ i have no idea.

I have the Academt RT4-GP 4x Its really built well and I plan to install a OS 15 in soon.

I'd have to disagree with Silent on the backyard thing. Though the monster may be better at the "hard" parts. My little stadium truck can do everything my friends T-maxx can do :)

And hell yes the stadium trucks are tons more agile. :) I thin monsters have to high of a center of gravity. But they are still fun to play with. :)

It is a copy of alot of trucks, I compared it to mybuds AE and it is Built better due to it being 4x and has a sealed radio and battery box

renegade - uh reality check - did u just say that an academy kit is better than a team associated kit??????

Yes better than the RTR at least, iff you are not racing. The hubs are bigger, better tires, 3mm chassis plate, wider stance, longer wheelbase, 4xshaft driven, covered radio gear, and half the price for a basher. I was going to buy the RT10 GT. cost inluding a shIty radio: 6250 South african Rand. Academy with radio of my choice: 4000 SA rand including fuel for both. Echchange rate it currently 7.35 Rand for a Dollar.

i forgot u were in SA. here in the US the rc10gt rtr is only 240.00 which is 1735rand. so u can see the diff + I'm not a big fan of 4x4 for offroad bashing, adds alot of weight, and not alot of benifits

Well the RC10GT RTR is not that well built for bashing off the line.. All it needs is about 30 bucks worth of RPM gear, and it'll bash with the best of them.. And as for radio gear, RPM makes a box for that.. And the RC10GT RTR Plus! Comes with EVERYTHING but fuel and batteries.. Makes it a good choice.

So let's take this in dollars.

290 for the RC10GT RTR Plus
30 for the fuel and batteries
30 for the RPM gear
that's 350...

That's damned good for a truck that can bash with the best of them. Trust me, mine can :)

I agree aod - I've jumped my rc10gt over a tractor trailer - and landed on PAVEMENT, and still nothing broke!!!!@ i bash the hell out of it, and so far the only thing I've hadda replace has been the spur gear.

Well, I see that problem occasionally too. The way they have the spur gear setup is pretty nice, but the problem with the small ol' bolts is another one. Though a ton of loctite fixes that problem for me. Loctite everything, motor mount, motor mounting bolts, tranny bolts, and even the bolts that hold the slipper plate to the spur. And I would recommend a Robinson Racing spur gear any day. Mine has been through a helluva lot. Even a problem with small debree that you can still see the marks from. heheh

I'm running a 15t clutch bell and 67 spur. With the mashers, I'm even looking into smaller bells lol
