hello , I'm having problems with the spur gear for my revo 3.3 that i bought a couple months back , it was running fine but than one day u took it off a ramp and after that the gear would keeping getting wrecked , i put a new one on and adjusted the slipper clutch but same thing , hobby guy told me to replace engine mount so i did but now the spur gear is not touching the clutch bell , I'm new to this so i got no idea of this stuff yet , if anyone can help , thanks :)

You need to adjust the gear mesh properly. You want the gears as close together as possible while still having a tick of play all the way around.

took some research but i got it , such a easy fix , didnt even have to do much , thanks alot :)

k well i got it running but it moves very VERY slow but its taking alot of power and it stinks pretty bad .... any help would be appreciated

Is the mesh too tight now? The gears should spin easily. Pick the truck up and spin the spur gear. Shouldn't be much resistance. Make sure the brake isn't on while checking it out.

ya i did that and its spinning fine , its not too tight , like making alot of noise too

Spin the spur by hand and follow the rotation of the shafts. Where they stop you'll find your problem. Make sure all your drive hexes and pins are all good.

thing is that the wheels spin great speed of the ground but when you place it on the ground it just barely moves , engine heats pretty quick because the engine is going hard

check that the wheel nuts are tight and that the drive shafts are spinning then work your way back from there

Sounds like either a loose slipper, bad clutch shoes(not as likely), missing stub shaft pin or trashed hex.

+1 on what metalhead matt said but I am going to lean towards the Clutch shoes are probly bad & think thats where your smoking is from replaces your clutch shoes & see if that helps..

slipper, spur, check the pins in the gearbox that hold the gears to the shaft (id had two snap on me), check to make sure the drive shafts arent ripped apart on the inside.

remember to check by applying pressure. sometimes u can't see it, or feel it when just spinning these things, apply pressure to them and try turn them and if they slip when there not suppose to then theres ur problem,.

one of my pins snapped and i thought it might of been the clutch in the gearbox. not knowing much about it at the time. so ordered the clutch, went to replace it and had to take one of the gears off and found of of the pins was snapped in 3 parts and still in tacked to the gear.

sorry guys have exams so got really busy but i got a chance today and since i though that REVO-5309 advice sorta matched my problem i tried it first , i opened up the gear box , nothing was broken i jus took it apart and put it back and the car works perfect now , no idea what the problem was but thanks alot everyone , i jus learnt alot more from you guys , thanks alot everyone :)
