horizon hobby SUCKS A$$

So I got the telemetry module for my brand new dx3r radio and went about setting it up on the project truck and I was having a lot of trouble binding it and getting all the components to work so I called up good ol' tech support at horizon and it took the guy 15 minutes of round about maybes and i dunnos' to tell me that the telemtry is not compatible with the RX that comes witht the dx3r. The solution, buy an old spektrum rx, "it works with all the older ones not the new one" WTF is the logic behind making your flagship surface radio not compatible with one of the most powerful race accessories for it. Nowhere on any website jr, horizon or otherwise did it say yhat this was an issue. Not even an offer to exchange my RX for one hat would work no discount NOTHING. Damn it I hate when companies do crap like that!!!!!

:censored:

I can understand your frustration. The telemetry system was designed around the original Spektrum technology and obviously is not compatitible with the newer Spektrum systems. Unfortunately it seems as though they have not yet made any attempts to update or release a version of the telemetry that is compatible with the new system. I don't get it either. To me it only means one thing though... their telemetry system does not account for much of the company's sales. I could only assume that they are either in the process of designing a new telemery sytem or it's not worth it for them. The later of the two being my personal best guess.

Great :gulp: I now have the DX3R and the Telemetry kit sitting here beside me with an extra 3100 DSM2 whatever reveiver.Well looks like Revo #3 will be the practice truck with the older receiver. At least I can tell you if I feel a difference from the old spektrum technology to the new DSM2 whatever.

The new radio feels great just holding it.I think I'm gonna like it.
