Spektrum RX Antenna

I couldn't find a straight answer for this one so i am just going to ask.

On my Savage Flux i installed a Spektrum Reciever and the antenna is too short to reach out the antenna holder/tube. Can I possibly add a couple of inches to my antenna.

NO!!!! With 2.4 ghz.... you hardly need any antenna at all, if you were to add length, you would GREATLY decrease your range! It's like cordless telephones.

sorry to hijack your thread but I just bought a spektrum 2.4 ghz transmitter and receiver and ran into the same problem. It says in the instructions to route the wire (which is very short) through the antenna tube away from the body so it protects the wire. Mine isn't long enough to do this either. What should we do than just secure the wire in the chassis of the car in a safe place and remove the long old antennae tube? I thought that the wire would have to be long like my old futaba radio antennae was for it to get a good strength signal but I am a noob as well.

If there isn't enough antenna to fit inside the antenna tube, Just make sure the antenna is up as far as it can go outside the radio box.

what ever the length of wire sticks out of the rec box, alll you have to do is cut the ANT TUBE (not the rec wire) to fit the length of wire
I have a dx3s w/ telemety ,i have 2 rec. i have SR3300T and SR300 rec's
both the abt wire's are on ly like 2" maybe 2.5"
