I was wondering if it would be possible to make the antenna longer. The newest application i am putting my Spektrum system in doesn't warrant me to use the actual antenna hole because of the shortness of the antenna, so i was hoping it is possible to splice some new antenna wire to it and extend it so i don't have to drill a hole in my receiver box to route the antenna out of it. Hopefully someone could chime in and help me with my little dilemma.

You have a 2.4? There's no reason to have it outside the body.
Even if it's not, the length of the antenna is tuned to the signal frequency.

This is the Rx I have in one of my helis. They don't get any shorter than this...

oh ok. . .well the only reason i was wondering is i just got an HPI Nitro RS4 and the way the receiver box and battery box are set up the reciever antenna runs down along the inside of the battery box and comes out towards the back of it and with the stock antenna a good 7 or so inches is tucked into a "channel" through the boxes
