This is may be one of my old posts, But yeah i had a bunch of issues with mine and so did @DavidB1126 we both got rid of ours due to short range and glitching issues and this post sums up my experience with Radiolink. In my opinion Radiolink radios are cheap terrible quality no name Chinesium do yourself and your hobby in general a favor and throw it away and buy something from a reputable company like Spektrum (DX6C to iXSR), Futaba (3PV to 10PX), Sanwa (MT-5 to M17) or Flysky (Like the NB4+). Ask @DavidB1126 he knows about the trouble with these horrible radios he got rid of his and bought an NB4+ as for me i bought a DX6C which for both of us they have been 1000x better and more reliable.

There hasn't been updates to fix it?

I think i saw one guys video in my feed once about an update but i didn't watch it since i have no reason to and i have long given up on Radiolink and there products for Spektrum and Futaba. I've had my Futaba 4PM before the RC8X and my DX6C and it's still a good radio 4 years later i just wanted something like what Spektrum offers.

No what caused the issues, well one of the causes was a faulty firmware which caused the hardware to go faulty and there was nothing you could do. And then radiolink would blame you or the user because apparently it's all user error or antenna placement which clearly it wasn't and then they took those faulty firmware files down from the site a month later they got all these issues from users appearing and they did nothing to fix it or help affected users. They just hide their faults. Also radiolink behind the scenes are really shady and ignorant and a pain to deal with. To my knowledge the issues are still going around today as I'm now blocked from their social pages and groups for absolutely no reason as its their fault that radiolink doesn't do proper testing of hardware and firmware before releasing, ie cheap chinesium like @CJSRCLIFE said. Same goes for dumbo RC as they and radiolink are parent or piggy back companies and share most of the same product and crap support. The other causes was either the product had faulty firmware from the factory or you got a good radio and it started to have random signal drops at random and then bricked the radio. Some cases I saw it first happen to only 1 model or car you have and then transfer to other cars you have. wasn't a receiver issue as my 4gs was working ok before my 4gs started to have random drop outs, as @luke66 said as I gave him my old 4gs for a budget rx/tx for the time being.

Oh so radiolink is bad and dumbo but what about the spektrum that one too? A bit confused

Spektrum is fine. They help and support users when needed and fix issues if any in a timely manner when cheap Amazon and China brands like Dumbo and radiolink don't. Also noting that big name brands like Spektrum do actual testing before releasing something so they know it will work well without any faults or bugs.

That's right, I ended up selling mine for $170 on eBay when fees came into play i got $141 for it and i used it to get my XO-1 up and running again. Yeah Radiolink used to be a decent company back when the RC4GS and RC6GS first came and were popular. But once the RC8X came out then the issues they gave up caring about their community. And left their users with defective, unreliable and potentially dangerous radio and Radiolink most likely will continue ignoring user issues and will continue deleting posts, comments and videos on social and YouTube about them.

Spektrum 10 or so years ago used to have issues but since 2019 - now they've seemed to fix their issues. I have had no issues with my DX6C and others who have the iXSR have had very little issues. So you're probably save with Spektrum.

So August of this year there's going to be a replacement for the ixsr? Just ordered one now thinking maybe I should return it and wait for the new one to come out... any thoughts?
I'd keep it, if the new one is that much different/better try selling it to get the new one. I really don't think it's going to be that different....but who knows!

I'm obviously going to get the new version when it comes out since i missed the OG version and can't currently afford the one that is still selling on Amain. But i still have room in my DX6C for new receivers to bind up i think i still have 11 - 12 slots left in my DX6C.

Lol got a comfy job bunch of rc cars with growing collection and this remote should last me a while just wanted something nice that I'll be happy with for a long time
I mentioned this before, I have quite a few arrma vehicles and other HH vehicles bond to the iXSR and I really like not having to buy/replace receivers. I added a screen protector and lanyard to avoid dropping it. The vehicle setup is super easy! I have a Axial UTB18 4WS and the set was a breeze. There were complaints about the long boot up time, I just put mine to sleep and don't power it off.

I do too although i bought most of them as rollers but in the future i'll buying them as RTR's. I only have 2 vehicles left to put Spektrum receivers in my current fleet but i have other non HH vehicles planned for the future but i'll most likely past that be defaulting to HH vehicles. I might also get a Lanyard with mine too along with the screen protector and maybe a Case for it. Like the Pro-Tek or Spektrum DX6R one to maybe trick people at the track thinking i have a DX6R instead of an iXSR. I'm also starting to wonder what they'll call the new iXSR model like maybe iXSR+ or iXSR+SE like the iX14+, iX14+SE or iX20+SE air radios. That would be neat to see.

I'm still looking for a case....haven't decided which one to get. You got laughing about the naming of the new unit!! 😆

It's just speculation at this point since they haven't announced the new model yet. It would sort of make sense since they have those on the iX series air transmitters. Also one thing i forgot to mention i'm not exactually sure how much the new model will cost maybe somewhere in the $750 - 800 range or less who knows since we now have to account for our Butthead of a president's decision regarding tariffs. But i really should refrain from bringing politics here 🤣.

It sure is, It's why i bought my DX6C to start off with to eventually move up to the iXSR and once the new one comes out this Summer or Fall and if i have enough money i'll definitely be getting one. I think what Spektrum is now doing is awesome they made something for everyone that can afford it and be able to do a lot of things with different kinds of vehicle setups is awesome. It also performs in line with most mid range to high end radios from other companies or better depending on how it's set up. And to be honest if my new future iXSR can out perform my 4PM in SR mode it's well worth it.

As my good friend @RBRC told me a couple of weeks ago the new model iXSR release has been pushed back to November 2025 by Horizon Hobby\Spektrum here's a screenshot from Spektrum's official site.

I still have hope that Horizon Hobby\Spektrum will release the new model by that time and i've already started saving up for mine. I've even been tempted to buy an NOS (New Old Stock) original model off eBay but i'm hesitant and been advised not to do it.

As you all may know a new iXSR+ and DXC+ have been officially released. Well today Spektrum released an updated firmware that is available for the old iXSR, DX6 Rugged, DX6C, DX5 Pro (2021+). It adds DSMR+ protocol, unlocks 12 channel expansion & more mixing options to dial in your setup. I updated my iXSR without any issue and it retained my saved vehicles. I'm hoping to get it out this weekend to put it to the test!
This update is pretty significant, check out HorizonHobby.com for the full change log under the new iSXR+!!!

Already found out on the facebook group i went ahead and preordered my own new iXSR+ and i'm still waiting for it to ship out next month. I'm super excited after several months of saving, hard discipline and money control i was finally able to make it happen this month. Even though i was tempted to do a 10PX but in the end the new iXSR+ won out and i can't wait to get mine and try it out i also heard about the firmware update for the old model radios as well as the DX6C and DX6 Rugged so i might do that firmware upgrade to my DX6C and see how it works. Thanks for breathing new life into this thread my friend @RBRC.
