i started watching drag racing in 1955. in the late 60s my dad and i went to Tulsa to the world points finals, from 1966 to 1969. i have watched a LOT of drag racing. but this up start doing this thing called pinks all out. starting the cars with his arms. well this is NOT drag racing. why does he take out the tree? i remember when the tree was introduced, it was thought to be a good thing. now this up start thinks hes going to make racing better by using his arms. i have seen them get into disagreements, that a tree would settle. sorry thats NOT drag racing, i dont know what it is. i have socks older than him.

Some nimrod producer thought it looked cool after watching Grease for the umpteen thousandth time. They could make it better by having a teeny-weeny bikini clad lass start the race......

I got sick of that show LONG ago. Best thing that ever happened was when the main dude barrowed that crotch rocket to run down to the end of the track and lost control of it and ate poop......classic

I have to agree with you guys that show sucks. And I'm in brainerd mn on vacation leaving tomorrow morning and I can hear the NHRA time trials today and its killing me hope being able to go. drag racing is awesome and there needs to be a tree.

hay bergoff how does a town of 13,000 people get a major nhra drag strip? the stupid town iam in, wichita , missed out on one, and it went to topeka. the city leaders in wichita realy suck. they give revenue sharing bonds to air craft cos. but NONE are inside the city limits.
The Wichita dragstrip isn't close to worthy of a major race unless they really upgraded it in the last few years(been 4-5yrs since I was there).
Tulsa has a nice strip and had the IHRA for 2-3 yrs but can't fill the stands for it. Another thing that the NHRA would consider.
I don't care for the show but Rich is a rich man from it,like him or not.

i dont know how they did get it. but they even say that they dont have all of the bling of the larger tracks but the fans are what make it. it was cool on friday old man force was at a car lot signing autographs and giving away stuff. i didnt go i had fish to try to catch. its just awesome to hear the roar of the topfuelers from 8 miles away. it sounded like thunder.

Drag racing changed forever when they changed it from a quarter mile to 1000 feet. All those top speeds and ETAs that everyone was shooting for are now gone forever. It's a whole new game, and it's just not the same.

If you want a real test of performance try either 0-60-0 or 0-100-0. It gives a better of idea of a more balanced performance not just blazing straight line speed IMO.
