The bike he was riding is a RC 51 I totally agree 170-180 but not 205. One of my good friends works at the dealership were the kid bought the bike. It's funny the story has been all over the news here for 3 days. the reason he got caught is he slowed down for one of his buddies and it gave the cops time to catch up with him. he had no clue there was a plane checking speed. this is the reason i gave up motorcycles and got in to r/c's. no insurance needed.

Like I said in the first place, R/C 51 then got cutoff and told it was a 1000rr. I live ,work, and used to ride and race motorcycles in minnesota. But what do I know the news is always 100% right.
HumboldtBlazer I always liked the kawi's I would check out the 636 stay away from the 6rr unless you plan on racing it, also the tl1000r is what my last bike was, it's a twin like the R/c 51 but you can find them cheap because nobody including the magazines liked them. I loved it lots of tourqe and not alot around. it was different. just my opinion.

Okay, LOL.

What did you used to race? Class? Where did you race? How long ago? Just curious.

Blazer, I say old vs. new based on cost first, but generally, newbs screw up. Would you rather drop a $4K bike, or a $9K bike? If you buy a used F4, you can probably sell it for about what you paid for it when you're ready. I've never been a big fan of the twin, sure, they have decent torque, but so does my liter bike. As for only racing the 600RR, I think that's kind of absurd. THe 600RR is a great street bike. Just as much as the 636. I know several people that use the 636 for just a track bike. You'll need to get your endorsment, and actually take a few bikes out and ride them. Only then will you be able to gauge what you're going to want to ride. If you do a lot of city riding, a 600 is actually perfect for ya. Lot's of shifting (cool), and plenty of balls to keep you hanging with the big dogs.

HB, you want to be a stunt rider? I get a kick out of watching them - some punk with shorts and no shirt passed me in a one-handed wheelie on a gsxr750 a few weeks ago, but poop thats insane! I have ridden off road since I was 8, raced moto and desert, I have a 40' double jump in my yard, and I have cleared 60' jumps at the track. And I would never try to become a street stunt rider! I was scared just riding my street bikes because of idiot drivers (my last one an '83 CB1100F). I recommend at least a few months off road first, but if you must, write a good will (I'll take your 1/8 buggies!)

I was talking about the kawi 600rr not the honda. I rode a 2000 kawasaki zx6 at brainerd 3 years ago. pretty much just on track days but 2 times during the year new riders school and the endurance race. my roommate was the serious racer I just more or less rode on the street and wrenched on his stuff and mine. Then I was laid off from my machinist job and started wrenching on other peoples bikes out of my garage,so I had some cash. Had a bike lift in the garage already thats why I bought the place for the garage 26' x 48' it was huge. bigger than the house LOL!!

yup yup, it's all wheelies, stopies, highchairs, and tank wheelies for me. That poop is dope. Maybe after awhile I can get 12'0clocks and circcle wheelies. I have a poop load of friends doing it and they are sick. I got the determination and I am a quick learner (had wheelies for blocks in under 2 weeks on my 50cc) Now I know there is a huge difference and I will deff learn to ride it before I stunt it, but that poop is unaviodable with me, If I drive, it's like I stole it and I have to show off! Ohh and I plan to offraod also, I am currently riding a 04 Yahmaha 450 (um sick). I admit I am new to this but it is sick and I deff let my nuts hang.
