I'm about to buy a red dot for my maxx. It has a new picco 21 but I want to put it in my beater revo. I've read alot about this engine, they sound awesome. Do they have any common problems? Anything else I should seek out other than a sirio s27?

One funny problem I've heard of is the hsn housing leaking. I guess some rtv on the outside fixes it. I haven't seen a picco in months and I don't remember if the housing is metal or plastic. Also have a couple of gallons of fuel and a couple of free days handy:). They take awhile to break in.

Ok thanks, I'll let you know when it's break-in time...:D I think I'm gonna do what I do best in this hobby and hold out for some kind of deal on Ebay. Not a used one of course, but I've got at least 6-8 weeks before the weather breaks. Kinda sucks that all the people on Ebay want 209 for a red dot, I can just go to tower for that deal.

I just picked up a brand new red dot picco on tower last week and i have it installed on my revo.. I had a picco .26 maxx before and they aren't totally broken in until at least a gallon thats when you can really see that motor come alive. Personally i would "baby" it for at least a gallon and half to make sure its totally broken in, and be aware that when i say baby it i mean run it a little more on the rich side. You need to have some spare glow plugs around, and according to ofna them selves they suggest the O.S. #10 A5 glow plug which is a cold plug. Ofna also suggests 25% nitro content fuel. But if you haven't run a picco .26 yet, boy oh boy are you in for a treat, Gobs upon Gobs of power. Good luck keeping the front end down :hehe:
