I have all but given up on my LHSs for parts because I don't own a Traxxas so i'm SOL 90% of the time. They sometimes have parts for my Savage, but never anything I need for my Losi's. I still love to go in to stock up on odds and ends like servo tape and see if anything tempts me while I'm there, but I go with ebay for almost all my parts now. I've been trying different sellers to test the waters over the past months and so far this is what I've found::

RCboyz- Major PITA, always seems to take forever to ship my parts. Actually have two parts I'm waiting on now that I bought almost a week ago and just got marked as shipped yesterday after I sent them a message asking whats going on. They claimed USPS must have lost them and are resending despite never being marked as shipped. Possible, yes, but likely not.

ToadRC - Good prices, fast shippers, quick to reply to questions. If I order on monday I always have before end of week, very consistant.

Hopmeup - Amazingly fast shippers. Ordered some screws on the 3rd (in evening) and had them in my hands on the 5th. Don't know where they are based out of but hot damn are they fast. Other past orders always get here within 3 days of paying.

I've used many others but those are three of the ones that I have the strongest opinions on. Who do the rest of you prefer?

i like Toadzrc i have had real good luck with them they just don't have everything i look for also hopmeup does great to.
i also like hobbysoup2009 for the fact everything i have ordered has been free shipping and there just about 3 to 4 hours away from me so i can order early monday and have the part by at least wednesday.
omnimodels isn't to bad shipping on the slower side but not bad by no means.

lumidave35 always has some great deals and super fast shipping

I use Hopmeup when they have what I am looking for.

Hopmeup and Rcboyz both do the trick if they have what I am looking for. I never ever liked my lhs, which is now out of business, so I always did 99% of my parts buying online.

Heather at hopmeup is awesome, and they're in NC so I have my stuff the next day usually.

nitrorchobbies is a good one too, out of NY. Fast shipping, tons of heli parts.

I agree, hopmeup is great. I've bought a lot of stuff from various sellers but they're really the one I buy from the most. However for my Losi Aftershock,RCMAxxPower has the best prices but I'm hesitant about buying since they're a Hong Kong seller. I'd like to know if anyone has bought from them and their experience.

hopmeup and JennysRC are both great.

Pacific Coast hobbies are scammers. Charge me 20$ for EMS shipping. Three weeks later it turns up, shipped priority mail at 8$ value.

i've also found that amazon is a good place to source parts but stay away from best service store they are about an hour away from me in kansascity and i've had stuff that i ordered the same day from florida that beat there delivery.

RC Damper has worked well for me but typically I try to use my lhs as I would rather give my money to a small business and put it back into the community than let feebay and paypric# get a hold of my cash. Will use them if my lhs can't find something but if I give them time they typically always locate what I need.

I agree completely with putting the money back into your community. If my local shop had my parts on a regular basis I would gladly pay a premium to support local and get my parts here and now. But with that said, I have 3 shops locally (within 30-40 minutes). One is worthless (Hobbytown USA). They never have any parts I need and have very little knowledge. I asked about a Losi XXX-SCB over the phone and was told they had one. I showed up and the lady I spoke to showed me a Losi HighRoller then tried to convince me it was the same thing. The other two shops are real LHS and are very helpful, but carry primarily Traxxas parts. Like I said, I like spending money locally, but I'm not going to pay a premium price AND wait a week or two when I can save money and have my parts in just days. If I was fortunate enough to have a shop that carried my needed wares I would gladly fork over fists full of cash that this hobby demands. I still do what I can and but my filters and chargers locally.

I was at my local HobbyTown USA today and bought a mess of accessories for several projects. They have EVERYTHING, and even if they don't carry something I need they can order it through one of their distributors at no extra cost.
They are friendly, knowledgeable and great to deal with.
If it's expensive I'll buy on line to avoid the 9 3/4% tax.

Beware of waldorf rc. I won a pair of traxxas tires for 15 bucks and they said my address wasn't in their software....or wasn't valid etc. They were just pissed because all the other same tires were 24 bucks a pair. Then they made me contact them after 10 days. The guy apologized and gave me a 3 dollar discount on the shipping......He downgraded the shipping! Cheap bastard! It's gonna be over 3 weeks by the time I see them and winter is approaching fast. Sucks to be his feedback score!!

Anyway, I love hopmeup. Lumidave is the man too. I also like omni models, Jenny's, rc superstore, superhobby, powerhobby, gonitrorc, and many many others. The hobby shops need to go online if they're gonna survive.....that is why I do not feel sorry for not going there. They have the power to bring money to their respective areas.

I wish I had a good LHS around here. All I really have are HBTowns and they suck. For Cleveland and the entire midwest having such a strong onroad racing scene neither of the two HBT's cater to onroad guys at all. Seriously lucky to find two matching pair of wheels. The one up north is run by a bunch of dry personalities who seem to just want to make the exchange and have me on my way. The other one to the west is actually much nicer in that the folks there are sincerely nice but it's the same lack of support. It's just easier to buy online. Man, what I would give for a good family owned place nearby...
