So my Nitro Exceed Rally monster flipped onto it's roof.

its a nitro they will do that as long as the tanks has fuel and engine is running it will run on. Is it bad not sure as long as nitro lubes motor can be all that bad.but I'm not nitro dude

This thing kept running, and that surprised me, as it is carbuerated. (Sorry about my spelling.) How does that work? Is it bad for the engine?
Any runaway not controlled is bad! Damage can be done to property or personal injury. Always check batteries before running. Add a fail safe to prevent uncontrollable runaway's from happening.

No it

No it didn't runaway. It was on it's back, idling. I thought i would cut out and ruin my Glowplug, but it didn't. I have a failsafe mechanism.

Rc did a roll over it was upside down and it still ran wow.. so how did it continue to run would it cause any damage?

Nah, they will just sit there and run in pretty much any orientation until the fuel is gone from the fuel line. If it's idling, and your fuel line is 4+ inches, you have a minute or so before it runs out, unless the tank was totally full.

Some tanks have a "clunk" filter in them, which is a flexible tube with a weight on the end. The weight follows gravity with the fuel, so if it's on it's roof, it will continue to run until it runs out of fuel completely. Some buggy/truggy tanks have that. I think the MGT had something like that, can't recall. Planes and heli's have it because they fly in any orientation. It's not overly typical that a land vehicle would have that though.

I use a small associated primer bulb on my fuel lines. That gives me an extra minute or so before it dies because the bulb holds fuel in it. Also makes priming easier and they don't leak unless you don't ziptie it up well.

it is carbureted, but the fuel supply still has a pump type system, pressure from the exhaust to the tank, which pushes fuel into the carb, so as long as there is fuel in the line it will run. some cars have the engine mounted on their side as normal position.

Thank you! That makes a lot of sense.

These are the ones I use:

Can be harder to find these days. I ziptie the fuel line on both sides when I install them. The bulb is a soft silicone, so be mindful of where it is so it doesn't get poked or pinched while bashing.
I went to the local Hobbytown once and they kinda just brushed me off. "We don't do Red Cat," was the first thing the dude said. We were actually just looking for fuel and glowplugs- If I can find it anywhere else I'll totally get it. Thank you!

I've had more than one LHS that was operated by jerks... Hated giving them my money, but at the time, they had the parts and things I needed. Now most of them are closed and the ones that are left have people that are pretty nice.

I had that experience before too. Guy reminded me of Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons, lol. I was looking for a piston lock tool, and he's like "Well I've never heard of that, and NOBODY is running nitro anymore" (meanwhile there were like 10 nitro trucks sitting on the shelf behind the counter that had been serviced and waiting for pickup, lol). I came in another time, to get glow plugs, and he starts going off on nitro again, saying "Nitro is going away, I personally prefer electric because I just plug it in and go". All in the Comic Guy voice, haha. I told him yeah, I just prime my engine and go, what's the difference? He starts saying, well you gotta tune it, blah blah, nobody wants to deal with that anymore. I told him that usually takes a few seconds if you know what you're doing. He kinda shut up after that, and I don't think he works there anymore.

I mean, I agree kind of with what he's saying. I have to put the body on and take it off because I thought I had it tuned right. On top of that, the compression is really hard on my baby hands when I try to start it. I also have to check how much gas I have left so I don't run out WAY TOO OFTEN. But you see, I LIKE that kind of thing. And I think at this point in time, nitro is still going strong. Of course it isn't where I live, but everywhere else. I did end up ruining a glowplug :/ so I went to Hobbytown. Surprisingly, the guy who got the glowplugs for me was a whole lot nicer than the Comic Book Guy Clone. Didn't even say anything about how it was an Exceed. One last thing, the truck flipped over again, for longer this time, and after I flipped it over and started driving again it died.
