I went next door and cleaned out my neighbors gutters for him and patched a hole in his soffit..took me about an hour total. He wanted to pay me but I said NO WAY! So the next day he brings this over and says here, someone gave me this and I have no idea what to do with it, have fun! It looks like its never been cleaned and there are screws missing everywhere. There's no air filter so I can only image all the crap that's going to be wrong with it! But hey, it was free so i guess I should enjoy it!

Nice! It's a good car, I have the classic version of it and I'm running a 2.5 r engine in it but it is a money pit I got mine for 40$ but so far I've put only about 500$ into it

So if your lucky you won't end up like me

Brings back memories, those mip pipes worked great on the pro .15

I ran that pipe with my os.12 and my os.18 and that pipe does make a mess everywhere. It's an ok pipe and header system. I currently run the traxxas blue pipe and blue header on my first gen with the os .18.

Nice score for a freebie! Old school maxx with an MIP Stinger. I had one of those back in the day, loud, nice low end power, but oil would collect in the bottom of the header, just dump it out occasionally and you will be good to go. I like that pipe set up when I had it.

The S Maxx debuted after the Pro .15 T Maxx model. I'm pretty sure this is a 1st gen.
T Maxx. Could be converted to an S Maxx though :mustache:

Yup, it seems to be. Not having owned a Maxx, I downloaded the manual and parts list last night. I guess I'll start dismantling it this weekend for a good cleaning, its incredibly oily and covered with grass and probably some dog crap smeared in there as well. I couldn't believe it though, It fired right up on the 3rd pull.. Haha! Everything is loose though, even the gas tank, and the steering servo can barely move the front wheels. I'll keep some photos posted as I tear it a part and will definetly need some advice from the Maxx guys.

I think every Tmaxx owner on this site had that MIP pipe back in the day. Mine started out on the .15 then went to the 2.5 upgrade. Here it is aimed out the rear window with a piece of spark plug cap on it so I wouldn't burn my finger shutting it off.
It REALLY ran great with that pipe.

OMG! Rolex had a dirty truck!!!! :p:

i can't believe rolex had a dirty truck i must post pics of the TGS after drifting he would have a heart attack.

OP nice freebie

I've been accused of painting on the dirt every time I post a picture of the Maxx. That thing was a daily runner at the local track. Local track now gone and so is that truck. :\

Got rid of it because it was too dirty, didn't ya?

Spent a few hours today with the tear down, thank goodness for Purple Power degreaser. 3 of the shocks were completely empty and the other 5 were full maybe %25 with black sludge. The engine is pretty worn out, not much pinch left. I don't want to put much $$ into it, will probably just bash it and let my son enjoy it. Is that motor worth replacing the piston/sleeve or would it be better to just get a new one?

Wow, I need a tetanus shot just looking at it. Glad you're getting it shipshape, though.
