I’m debating paint the exhaust flat gray or leave it in the bare 3D print.

I saw some poly's with the grey. The flat black might hide that.

Flat black. The layer lines will show up when you paint it though, so shoot it with some automotive sandable primer first.

Or you can coat it with UV resin, which will give it a nice smooth finish, with less sanding. You can get small bottles of it off Amazon. You just shine a UV flashlight over it and it hardens immediately, then sand it down. Just make sure you wear nitrile gloves when using it. Resin builds up in your body as it will absorb through your skin. You can develop long term dermatitis from too much exposure.

Staying away with black because I have black bumpers. Wickedfrog knew you would chime in do to you doing 3D prints and yes I don’t want to sand to much I do want nice finish though.

most people in my area polish their chrome exhaust pipes to prevent carbon buildup... there are some high temp paints for grills that you could use, but with all the nasty grease spitting out from nitro would probably cause the paint to peel off in no time :(
He is talking about the 3d printed plastic exhaust pipes on his CEN Racing F450 truck he just bought 😉

TRAT has a bad habit of not keeping all his posts in a relevant build thread, making it a bit hard to follow. But we love his posts anyway 😉

The UV resin will leave a nice smooth finish bro. Just paint it on kinda heavy, let it settle so the brush lines smooth, then shoot it with the UV flashlight. It's pretty amazing how well and how fast it works!

Cut thin aluminum tube and create a sleeve to slide over the 3d printed part then paint the inside flat black.

On my nitro stampede I did that on the exhaust deflector.
