Been asking around the forums for quite awhile for a good diff replacement for this car. The back diff broke, and I've heard the diffs aren't that great on this car anyways. Does anyone know where to get a good diff replacement I can drop right in?

hi, my first rc was a redcat volcano, horrible rig. parts broke easily and other problems, after a little advice from the crew here at RC NITRO TALK and my L.H.S i've learned the first question to ask yourself is: CAN I EASILY BUY PARTS FOR THIS TRUCK? That's why i like the HPI and TRAXXAS brands, my L.H.S has a full line of replacement parts to keep my son and i up and running. With that being said, If you take the parts out you may be able to match up something at a well-stocked hobby shop, i watched a guy do that on a DURATRAX WARHEAD, so that's the way i'd go. HOPE THIS HELPS. kdogg

Thanks, but I'd really like a drop in replacement for it, so I was hoping someone here could offer up some advice on this.

Because of the brand of truck, Kdogg's solution is probably the best. You will need to find a solution by comparing the old one with the new ones at the LHS.

LHS doesn't have differentials, or any parts really. I'd have to order a bunch of diffs.

Id find a Hobby shop that has a good stock of parts. I have the same problem where I live. I have 2 hobby stores fairly close to where i live but they stock next to nothing so I drive 45 minutes one way to a hobby store that stocks alot of parts. If you dont have a hobby store within driving distance I would suggest selling your rig and buying a traxxas, hpi, losi, or even a team associated so you can get parts more easily.

It's actually a car I got for free in a deal awhile back. I want to fix the diff so I can sell it for more money. ;)

i just blew my tornado rear differential
impossible to find parts
cleaned it inside carrier filled it with jb weld and reassembled it
now its a full posi and seems to be bullet proof!

smartech tornado diff problem

i know this post is old but i just got the smartech tornado with a trade. it runs great is huge too had to get a few screws and put the gears back in after that i found that i needed a brake disc and the diff's were clicking and not working in looking into them found there were two pins in each diff broken letting the gears rub each other and the diff case walls so i have took a dremel to the inside of the diff case just to give a lil more room in there also i found some hinge pins I'm going to make sure the fit the case/gears first then cut them down to the size of the stock gear pins. the hinge pins should be stronger the the stock pins ill find out i also found a website that has parts it is:

http://www.jhchobby.com/ecommerce/s...1-6-scale-spare-parts/063410-spare-parts.html

hope i helped. maybe to late :\
