Was thinking of setting it up again. Anybody got an awesome set-up to share?

I admit to have done some poking around online after this post. The slot cars available are definitely more advanced then I remember. There is some great stuff out there.

It can get as advanced as you want. I watched a video the other day of a digital setup that had a dozen or so cars on it all racing each other in ghost car mode. It was very impressive!

In searching I couldn't find that example but here is a quick short showing half a dozen ghost cars driving around.

I took better photos 🙂

When I rediscovered slot cars a year or two ago all these memories of my family's first home came flooding back.
We had an unfinished basement that my Dad had built a few plywood tables for setups.
We had my Tyco setup on one side, it was the Lamborghini set with a wall ride loop.

We also had either 1/24 or 1/32, I can't remember. I just recall as a child they were huge!

This started out as a F1 set from Costco, it has grown a lot now.

And my little person "no drive" collection on the wall. I have another Sebastian Vettle hidden away N.I.P

The boy got a track extension pack that came with two new F1 cars for Christmas.

The owner of our local rc car shop was thinking of getting into selling slot car stuff. How much interest is there generally in these? I'm old enough to remember them back in the 1960's and I guess they never completely died out. I know some of the new made ones now are really detailed and super nice looking.
Is the digital system more popular than the simpler "old time" system? I would like try my hand at them again but I wonder how many others would be interested.
I suppose the only way he could have a multi-lane large track would be to build one.

I think there's still a good following. A lot of us grew up with these sets in the 60's and 70's. I think it's a more "hands on" thing as opposed to video games, I never got into video though. If you ask around you'll find a good number of people still have tracks. I honestly know nothing of the digital sets.
