hi everyone I got my son a sc10 rs rtr for Christmas. I am having a problem with the slipper clutch. what happens is I have to adjust the slipper clutch so lose that the nut that u turn to losen and tightened the slipper cluch all the way out to the last thred on the stud if I go ant tighter with the nut it makes a grinding or clicking noise when he races any idea would be great

Sounds like it may be a differential issue. Tighten the slipper back down, then make sure that:

-The wheels turn in opposite directions when you hold the spur only

-The spur turns when you hold one wheel and spin the other

If yes and yes, hold one wheel and the spur while turning the other wheel. It should require an uncomfortable amount of force to prevent the spur from turning, and the shaft should still turn. If you're able to hold the spur while doing this and the shaft is not turning, then the differential is too loose.

ok I will try that do u want me to turn the nut all the way in for the sliper clutch

ok so I did what u had mentiond I tighten the not all the way down for slipper clutch turned tires they go in different derections if I hold one wheel and spin the other the larg gear or spur gear I think it is called dose spin and if I hold on to the larg or spur gear and one tire I can not spin the other tire dose this mean I need a new diff or what do I need to do to fix problem thanks again

dose this mean I need a new diff or what do I need to do to fix problem thanks again

No, it sounds like it's behaving as it should.

Does everything see to spin smoothly when you're not deliberately trying to bind it up?

Can you make a video with decent audio so that we may witness this phenomenon? Otherwise, it's gonna be pretty difficult to find your issue without going through the troubleshooting one item at a time.

sorry I mis spoke so when I hold one tire and spur gear I can not spin the other tire also the shaft that the spring and nut go on to adjust sliper clutch it also dose not spin when I hold one tire and spur gear so the tire is realy hard to spin and no the shaft dose not spin eather when I hold one tire and spur gear and try to spin other tire hop I did not confuse anyone this is my first rc car

Basically what I was getting at is that the slipper should slip before the diff does. If you were holding the tire and the spur while turning the other tire, and the slipper shaft remains stationary as well as the gear, that means that the diff is slipping, which can be noisy.

The tension is adjustable on Associated ball differentials; You simply remove the dogbone from the outdrive cup on the side that has the 5/64" internal hex (might be 2mm on your critter, new as it is), and then tighten that screw while holding the other tire. But be careful; the screw can be broken fairly easily by overtightening.

thanks for the help I found the shim in diff to be problem rebuilt diff all good noe
