I didn't find a thread for this so, here it goes. I've got an HPI MT2 (hence my login name:banana: ), I broke the throttle arm while tuning the motor so it didn't stall when I hit the brakes. So, while I 'patiently' await the throttle arm (I've got four of them on back order), I've got the slide linkage upgrade for the MT2, and I'm thinking that the slide linkage will make it a bit easier to adjust the carb w/o breaking another throttle arm vs. the constant clipping/unclipping of the stock ball cap from the throttle arm. Any "expert" thoughts or opinions? :)

P.S. Reading some of the other engine tuning threads, something I've learned as a nitro newbie, is that learning what a properly tuned motor SOUNDS like is a major plus when learning how to tune the motor yourself. :thankyou:

I didn't know there was a "slide linkage" upgrade for the MT2... I had a HPI NMT (predecessor to the MT2) and I used an OFNA slider, couple of springs and collars for my linkage. I just didn't care for the stock split servo horn that was on it.

This was with an OS 18, but it was a rotary type carb:

why would you need to but the carb? can't you just use the stock one and still do it? doesn't the stock one still have the round end also.

Sorry, misread the title.. Thought he was looking for a "slide carb" ...

Thanks for the info! And thanks for the link for the carb and especially the pic! That'll help heaps when I put mine together...when I get my bloody throttle arms. grrrr

Another question, thanks to the above link for that sweet looking carb. I notice the throttle arm is different than what I've got, it looks alot more durable than what I have. Are the throttle arms universal for different carbs? (i.e. take this style: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGEH8&P=7 and replace it with this style: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDGC2&P=7) I know they're for different trucks/engines, I'm just curious if arms are universal.

Be careful... The carb that I posted a link to, is a "slide carb". In your picture, your using a "rotary carb". Two different animals..
